We had the good fortune of connecting with Catalina Londono and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Catalina, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“it always seems impossible until it’s done” Nelson Mandela

Many times we see things very difficult or impossible, but when we only face it and start taking small steps, we are constant with our dreams or we simply walk forward, then we see that our dreams have been fulfilled or we have reached a point where we never think to get. everything can be achieved with discipline, dedication, and perseverance. we must not give up we just have to try.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I grew up in Armenia, a very small city in Colombia, where there are not as many opportunities as in this country. Since I was little, I showed an aptitude for singing and my family always supported me to carry out this profession. The road has not been easy, I arrived in this country with many expectations, the biggest barrier was the language. but little by little I have overcome every barrier and grown musically and professionally as well as personally. I have reached great stages and shared with great musicians from all over the world. When I was little I didn’t think about this. I just walked and I was always humble, eager to learn every day and above all to be grateful. I love challenges and when I see something impossible I just face it and have fun along the way with responsibility and discipline.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Miami you definitely have to enjoy the sea, the beaches, the sunsets, the diversity of food because we have cuisine from different lands here, a walk through Wynwood to enjoy its art, the natural parks, a kayak trip, see the buildings from down town and its lights at night, the music scene. In many places you can find live musical groups, of different genres, jazz, top 40, Brazilian, Cuban, Puerto Rican music … a whole variety. you can take a painting class a day. go shopping at the mall. In Miami you can rent a scooter or bike and take a ride or you can just walk down the street and admire the houses, gardens, exotic colored trees, butterflies, birds, squirrels, iguanas and enjoy the weather.
