Meet Catherine Moncion | Licensed Real Estate Broker & Dental Hygienist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Catherine Moncion and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Catherine, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I have gotten better with balancing the two, because in the beginning I was so focused on growing my business, I dedicated every waking hour to it. I neglected my family and myself (30 lbs heavier in less than 3 months). That was my wake up call. I learned to schedule time blocks for certain tasks and even my personal life, which helped me focus and give more to a specific task, compared to trying to do multiple things at once. I’ve also learned to delegate, it is a must to enlist help. when you can. With a growing business, you can’t do everything by yourself and expect everything to be 100%. How do I think about work life balance? I think of it like a seesaw, it’s definitely a balancing act. Scheduling is important, but we know life happens and at any given moment either one will require more time and attention. As an entrepreneur, it’s important to recognize which is a priority and address it. If my personal life is screaming for attention and I keep putting it off, I will eventually get burnt out or sick and my business will end up suffering and vice versa, if my business needs attention and I don’t accomplish at least some of my goals, personally I won’t be able to afford that getaway, or have that sense of pride that I feel when checking things off of my to do list. It’s definitely been a struggle to learn to balance the two. But each day, I learn more and it gets easier.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the broker and owner of PerfecTiming Realty LLC, a real estate brokerage that fights for their client’s best interest, while educating and guiding it’s buyers, sellers, and investors, to help them make the best decision for themselves and their family. I’m excited to own my own brokerage and see how many people it can help. My faith, fight, patience, and kindness is what sets PerfecTiming Realty LLC apart, my belief in God and his timing supersedes everything “PerfecTiming”. With that, I’m not going to rush my clients and force them into a deal, that can ultimately harm them. I will communicate how the real estate business works and the importance of timelines, but in the end it is their investment and their decision. Because I understand how much weight this holds, I will put my full effort in making sure they close and achieve their goal. I want my clients to be confident in their decisions and with education and guidance, I know they will make the best decisions. I graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene over 10 yrs ago and got into real estate because I wanted to buy a house and could not understand where to start. If I spoke to 3 different people, I received 3 different answers. So what did I do, I studied and got my real estate license. It definitely was not easy, I had to take my agent exam 2 times, practice real estate while working a full time professional career, and deal with the highs and lows of life, with prayer and my family and friends always encouraging me and telling me I can do it, I am now a licensed broker and the owner of PerfecTiming Realty LLC and I am excited to help families build stability and wealth for generations to come. My brand is about helping others, achieve their goals. Going through the real estate process and life in general, it can make you doubt yourself. Being able to help encourage my clients and help them achieve some of their biggest goals, is a privilege and I don’t take their trust lightly. I am still in contact with most of my clients till this day, we’ve celebrated engagements, marriages, babies, degrees, and new business ventures. I love engaging with different people, from different walks of life and in the end being able to be considered friends and family.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First stop is food! South Florida has so many amazing restaurants with beautiful views of intracoastal and beach or Las Olas or Washington Ave for the city life. Jet Runway Cafe is a small diner on the runway, where you can see planes take off and land and their food is delicious. El Tucan is an upscale restaurant in Miami that has great entertainment, with a great menu. We would go see the Thrive sculpture in downtown Fort Lauderdale by artist Daniel Popper, then tour South Florida’s diverse culture, going through Wynwood and Little Haiti, to take pics of the muriels. No trip to South Florida is complete without jet skis and the beach, we would take the jet ski tour down Millionaire row, then rent cabanas on the beach. South Florida is known for it’s wildlife, so we’d have to take an airboat ride through the everglades and catch the sight of at least a couple alligators. Then shopping, there’s an outdoor flea market called the Swap Shop (where I learned my negotiating skills from watching my mom bargain with the different vendors) and to take it up a couple notches skip over to Bal Harbour Shops, with shops of some of the finest designers. I’m really laid back, so most of their time in South Florida would be relaxing.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Parents even as a child, they never put any limits on their children, as to what we could be. Being the children of Haitian Immigrants they always spoke life into us and worked hard to provide for us. I remember them telling us to become Senators, mayors, doctors, lawyers, or anything that we wanted where we wouldn’t have to struggle. I remember changing my major at least 10 times and my mom saying tell me when your graduation is and I’ll be there, lol. My family and friends for always encouraging me and building me up and telling me how proud they are of me. I love you all
