Hi Catherine, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Flexibility and the chance to provide the best patient-centered care. The delivery of speech and language therapy services in the home has increased significantly due to an increase of senior patients with speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders. Delivering SLP services in patient’s home including ALF, nursing homes and memory care facilities is a great way to provide personalized therapy services. All the settings mentioned above provide an ideal setting to address the functional needs of patients in their own environment.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Being a Medical Speech Language Pathologist is a rewarding and fulfilling career, but it isn’t without challenges.
#1 graduate school doesn’t teach you what you need to know. Since graduation, I have been taking multiple CEU’s and certifications to better myself as a clinician. I am subscribe to different online educational platforms including MedBridge , STEP Community, and Dysphagia Master Program in Spain.
The education we do never ends, we need to stay up to date on the current research and clinical practices. I’m most excited to continue making an impact in my community and the patients I serve. There is a wonderful feeling of satisfaction and joy to bring my skills to my patients and help them change their lives.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Florida and it has so much to offer! My perfect itinerary: beach, walk around Worth Avenue , lunch at Lola41, Dinner at Buccan and Afternoon tea at The Brazilian Court Hotel or Henry Flagler Museum. Atlantic Avenue in Delray is another great place to shop and eat!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, who made this business possible. My brother, for his unconditional support, advice, and love. My mother and my sister who inspired me to open my own practice and a special recognition to my son, Maverick who has been my strength and inspiration. Last but not least, a shutout to my boyfriend Sergio, who always puts a smile on my face. I am very fortunate to have them all in my life.
