We had the good fortune of connecting with Catherine Reisen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Catherine, what do you attribute your success to?
The success to my fitness career has been the overall holistic healthy lifestyle approach. I help to educate my clientele, as well as my followers, on how to move safely and efficiently, eat healthy and balanced, manage stress, be happy, sleep better, and learn to how to relax and recover. This helps to reduce unneeded stress in life. And live towards longevity.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My fitness profession started all the way in Los Angeles, California. Where I trained for over 10 years with some of the most diverse and high-profile clientele. Specializing with pre/post- natal (c-section/natural birth), complex cases aging from 15 – 80 year old, such as Parkinson’s, Diabetic, and Multiple Sclerosis. I have also worked with recreational athletes that want to better their performance, and anyone that wants to be healthy, fit and lean. I have helped many transforms themselves into a healthier, stronger and mindful person.
I have helped many with pain and rehabilitation from accidents/surgery, and gained their strength back stronger than ever. I help my clients in all facets with a holistic approach, helping with nutrition, stress management, sleep quality, and recovery.
In the beginning of my career, I was working for a small amount of money, and it was hard to make my bills. So I would work several jobs to make ends meet. But after time and dedication, I knew that helping others was priceless. So I focused on the love of the craft rather than the money. And in time the money came on its own. I’ve trained celebrities, to high profile clientele. And for me they were just a great person that needed my help to be either more fit, healthy, relieve stress, prevent pain and/or more active.
I have been an athlete my whole life participating as a Cross Country Runner, Triathlons, Swimming, Soccer, Softball and Golf. Being active and healthy has always been a way of my life and my family. For me it hasn’t always been easy, but I’m grateful for my parents for pushing me into sports and teaching me the importance of discipline and being healthy. For them I’m grateful, I’ve been able to help so many people become the best version of themselves. For this I hope it will have a chain reaction effect on others when one person is healthy, then hopefully others around them become more
healthy as well. Our world today, is full of stress, anger and survival. We need more people be happy and healthy. My passion and love for fitness drives me to make everyone I trains the best that they can be. And I hope others will catch on to this too.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first give a full tour of the city. I would start in South Beach and work my way up to North Beach come around up through Bal Harbor, and Aventura and work my way down into the city and also into Coconut Grove and the Gables. The great part of our city is that it’s not very large. So it’s easy to see in a few days. For sure the beach is a must. I’ve been coming to Miami Beach for 30yrs now. And for the US, I believe we have the best waters. Definitely have to go to my favorite restaurants., KYU, DOYA, Pastis, Arigatai for Sushi, Fiorito for Steak, Makoto for Asian, Luna Pasta for Italian. I could go on and on.
Wynwood to see some local graffiti art, Miami Design District to check out the modern art, brands and amazing food. Brickell City Centre for shopping or a movie at CMX
Golfing in Miami is also amazing. Beautiful courses around. I golf at Normandy and recommend going to one of many courses we have.
And the best way to see the city is by Boat/Yacht. It’s my Favorite way to take in the views of the city and local areas like Venetian, Star Island, Nixon Sand Bar. The sunsets are priceless. Plus to party and enjoy close friends. Such a great experience.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a shout out to David Alexander and Donnie Raimon, the founders of DBC FITNESS. Creating a training facility that’s beyond professional, detailed on Biomechanics and Human Movement. With our high energy, it creates a culture that is inspiring for pro-athletes, as well as the general population. Because of the opportunity to be a coach here at DBC FITNESS, I have become more detailed in my training and application. They have the education that sets the bar to properly align, correct and progress my clients.
