We had the good fortune of connecting with Cemone Glinton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cemone, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Nassau, Bahamas and spent most of my childhood there. My background and upbringing played a major role throughout my life. My grandfather was an entrepreneur, he did not realize it then BUT I watched and admired him. I admired the hard-work, dedication and passion. There was a sense of pride for me whenever I saw all that he had done for himself, family and country. During that time I couldn’t say for sure what I wanted to do with my life BUT I knew I wanted to have and build my own.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work as a Wedding and Event Concierge is what got me here in the first place. However; I’m a business woman,I started out planning the most dreamed about day in most peoples lives. From there I’ve written a book, Started a podcast, YouTube channel, taught at a university and so much more. Did I plan it all out to be this way? No I did not, but becasue I wanted to do something different and I followed through with my passion the doors began to open for me, and my company. Was it easy? Doing something different is never easy – especially when you just want to survive, especially when you’re broke. Challenges I’ve faced included, going into debt, almost losing my car, struggling to pay for aftercare – you name it. On the business side there was struggling to have a client, not being able to make enough money and there is always a hater or two – individuals who just want to see you fail and would do anything to ruin your reputation. Di spite all of the BS I’ve stayed true to my dream and desire to be the best. Out of Box is better than ever and has grown so much from 2012 it still brings tears to my eyes. I want people to know that “IT” or success just does not happen, that’s not how this works – there are going to be challenges and you have to stand up for yourself and business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During the day – each day we would do something different: Activities include: – Shopping at Dadeland Mall – Day of the Water – Yacht rental with Mansion Key – Day at the zoo – not a regular zoo – Zoological Miami – Spa Day at the Carillon Miami – Midtown – After-hours and hanging out (brick-house/the wood) – Visit Viscaya museum and gardens Dining: -Earls Kitchen and Bar -Pizca y nazca – Three Fold Cafe – Harrys Pizza – Chef Creol – Barsecco

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
WOW. … There have been so many people and books who have inspired, encouraged and supported me. I’ll start with my books: Amazing books that shaped my thinking were – Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Choice by Og Mandingo, and The Riches Man in Babylon by George S Clason. Individuals that I couldn’t have done this without – For starters is my son, Darius Tyler – My heart-string and inspiration. My partner, Andrew Curling My mother – Monique Lightbourne, Grandmothers Ruth Wolfe and Katy Glinton, Grandfather Bobby Glinton and Friends/Sisters: Farrah Joseph and Nicole Vascianna. Of course there are countless others that I’m missing – We’d be here all day if I had to list them all.
