We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesar Guardia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cesar, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I’m really happy you brought up this question!
So, the company kicked off back in 2015, around the time my son Sebastian was just 7. As a solo parent juggling things, he tagged along with me to events, flyer handouts, sales gigs, and even installations. This hands-on exposure allowed me not only to talk to him about the intricacies of starting a business but, more importantly, to demonstrate the journey of building something from the ground up and persevering through challenges.
The significant impact on my son’s life has been the lesson that as long as you keep moving forward, no matter the pace, it’s still progress. And the most important thing is not to quit.
Presently, I notice that he possesses a grounded perspective when it comes to comprehending the efforts and sacrifices required for success. I’m thankful that these eye-opening experiences happened during his crucial growing-up years, playing a big part in shaping his character.
Now that he’s 15, we can genuinely dive into meaningful conversations about what it’s like to kick off a project, tapping into experiences he’s already seen firsthand.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a company with expertise in the telecommunications industry, we’ve transformed from an authorized satellite TV retailer into a comprehensive telecommunications firm. At our core, we specialize in antenna installations for both commercial and residential settings, providing essential services such as TV, network, internet, and GPS.
What makes us unique is our dynamic growth in the telecommunications industry. This journey has not only shaped our expertise but has also deepened our understanding of both our services and the needs of our customers.
What excites me the most is the understanding that each day contributes to the legacy of a business that began from scratch, continuously evolving and persevering despite the demands, challenges and changes of today’s world. I find pride in acknowledging the necessity for the company to evolve for its continued survival.
The journey hasn’t been a walk in the park, especially with my background lacking any financial education and not having a clue about starting a business. In the beginning, I made quite a few mistakes that set me back a few steps in the process.
Lessons were learned, and the business world continues to be a realm of ongoing learning. However, the self-growth that accompanies starting a business is what truly pays off. Evolving into a better version of myself as I confront and conquer challenges is what brings a fulfilling end to my day. Personally, the knowledge that I’m setting a positive example for my son fuels my determination to keep pushing forward. Lastly, one of my most significant achievements is finding the ability to support myself and my family through a self-made business, bringing a comforting sense of accomplishment.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A spot my son and I frequently enjoy is known as “The Citadel.” It’s never too crowded, always exuding a pleasant vibe. The area boasts numerous food stands, and on occasion, they even feature a DJ playing music. It’s a welcoming place open for people of all ages.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout, with quite a few tears streaming down my face, goes to my Mom – the unwavering pillar of my success.
When the business hit those rough patches, she was and has been always there, lifting me up and pushing me to keep going. So much of what I have accomplished is thanks to her outstanding support and encouragement. I’m Grateful for her in every way!
Having someone who uplifts your spirits is like having a beacon of support in the journey of life. It’s more than just positive words; it’s about sharing a genuine connection that empowers and motivates.
Additionally, I must acknowledge my sister, a key player at the beginning of this journey. She supported me and lent a helping hand whenever hands-on work was required.
