We had the good fortune of connecting with Charles Tingz Ward and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charles Tingz, what do you attribute your success to?
TRUTH.

You can’t get anything done without it. IT should be the embodiment of any creative endeavor.
Sometimes it can be hard and challenging and the long way. But the results with the truth
is what moves the people forward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I came up in the Los Angeles Art scene. I was a dj in Los Angeles for a long time. So I approach the Art game like a Dj and an Artist. This has been crucial in
separating myself from the rest. Its been a long path and went through
many failures to get where I am at today. Never quitting has always
been the key.

My creative services and brand is based on uniting the people and helping them
connect back to their inner nature. We have a lot of division happening
as many people know. But being unified with your fellow brothers and
sisters is crucial for teaching the youth to do the same.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes out to a young African American kid in 1991 named Fred. I was a shy kid who got picked on a lot with my sister. I couldn’t stand up for my sister and myself getting bullied everyday at that time.

This went on for 6 months in the 4th grade. One morning, all of the sudden a 5’10” Kid named Fred gets on the bus and sits next to me. It was his first day of school in the 4th grade. I told him about how I was always getting picked on. He listened and later on that day at recess he had me walk over to where my little sister was on the playground. We stood there and talked and by just walking with us his presense made sure we never we’re picked on again.

This showed me what it meant to be a real Ally for all your brothers and sisters in the world. That had a signficant impact on
my approach to art and life. It is why I have been a real ally to black artist and culture

We got separated by moving away but hope to find him someday to thank him in person.
