We had the good fortune of connecting with TAXI GARAGE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TAXI, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The success of our brand/company TAXI GARAGE we would have to say comes from our PASSION. The TG team is lead by a partnership between Charlie Fallon, Nick Ward and Ryan Kaufman. Having a combined 35+ years in the automotive industry it comes natural that we can’t touch anything without modifying it with quality upgrades. From what started as a bi-weekly hobby riding the carts, constantly getting asked “What are those? and “How can I get one” it only made sense to turn this into a business.
What should our readers know about your business?
As mentioned with our passion for these crazy carts and open door policy with RAZOR USA, taking our background experience in the automotive industry has lead us to starting this business based off the crazy cart platform. TAXI GARAGE LLC. is only 2 years old and growing the brand name rapidly. Each and every cart and part is inspected before shipping out. All the upgrades have gone through our R&N (Ryan and Nick) department before offering anything to the public. As with a growing company, we keep coming out with newer revised parts and streamlining the upgrades for our customers. In addition with our viral videos and upgrades we provide “HOW TO” install videos on our YouTube to virtually assist customers. We are here to expand the crazy cart community and with our steady growth are excited to announce the world’s first FORMULA CRAZY CART league. In comparison to Formula Drift and Formula 1, Formula E, we want to expand this sporting event at an entry level to spread this shared hobby amongst crazy carters worldwide. Our first event was hosted at K1 Speed in Hollywood, FL where a competition with 1st , 2nd and 3rd place winners were announced and given handmade trophies.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we could pick them up at the airport on a crazy cart, WE WOULD! Everyone that comes to town ends up riding one of our carts to see what the hype and fun is all about. The best thing about these is that you can take them anywhere. Being electric they are not loud and obnoxious and with the current times everything going electric they fit right in. Anyone with an electric driven ride-on meets up with us 1-2x a week to go explore downtown, nature trails, parks, and free ride new terrains. Check out our social media posts to join in on the fun!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As these crazy carts are based off the RAZOR crazy cart platform we have to give credit to Ali Kermani for bringing this toy to market. Kermani left RAZOR in 2007 to go to business school and while there he decided to use the Grad school platform to launch the Crazy Cart. He pitched the school on the idea of making the Crazy Cart his Master’s Thesis instead of going through the normal MBA program. Luckily the people at UCLA gave him a chance and so he approached Razor about purchasing the rights to the concept in order to bring it to market since no one in power at Razor seemed to think the product had a chance. The benevolent owners of Razor green lighted him taking the project on and he spent the next 6 years working on the product and trying to figure out a way to bring it to market. It was during that time that he designed the Drift Bar and that made an insane difference. Then the next 6 years were spent prototyping, patenting, pitching, finding a retail partner, etc. until he finally launched as an exclusive at TRU with no marketing budget. From here it was taken to the next level by us here at TAXI GARAGE. As these crazy carts were meant for children, having an automotive background we make these “adult friendly” as well as catering towards the younger crowd looking to upgrade their carts.
