We had the good fortune of connecting with Chef and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chef, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Lauderhill, FL. A city in Broward County. I grew up on the edge of the city limits and was always in the middle of everything. I could go down the street to the hood or up the street to Sunrise. I think that blend carved me. Artistically, I see it play a role in the diversity of my music. How I can attack a track in so many ways because of all the things I’ve done and seen on both sides of the city. It also opened my mind up to different styles of music, different kinds of people and lifestyles. I was able to interact with a slew of things that’ll eventually be embedded in me and help mold the mindset I have today. I love where I’m from and how it’s played a part in creating the artist I am today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a rapper, I think what sets me aside from most is my authenticity and versatility. I’ve really put a lot of effort in staying true to myself and my initial goal to make music that I didn’t feel was being made. Through that, I’ve created my own sound and lane that I often play. It wasn’t easy at all, it took a lot of walks, lot of money, lot of time, and a lot of dedication to get here but I’m here. I’ve learned how to capitalize off of my drive for things I really want. I want everybody to know I’m not stopping until I reach my goals and my story will attest to that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Long week vacation with the homies, we going to all the good food spots from fine restaurants to strip clubs. We hitting Blue moon, House of Mac, Chef Pats, Posh, we gone take a trip to Fred’s, La Granja, Tootsies, and for fun we going to the studio. It’s tons of beaches to hit, strip clubs like The Office and Playhouse. We’ll do a lil of everything really.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Saimakesbeats, first producer I accomplished over a million streams with. Mikey More, first rapper to believe in me. My dad, my main man and game giver. My brothers, my support system. My sister, my motivator.
