We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelse Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelse, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?

Other than deciding to work for myself, the single most important decision I’ve made that contributes to my success is deciding I want to be great.

No matter what I am doing I am constantly learning and evaluating my skills. This allows me to pinpoint my weaknesses and then make those my strengths.

What should our readers know about your business?

There are several things that set my beauty salon apart from others such as the private service setting, quality products, industry leading techniques , atmosphere and customer care.

Most importantly it’s the dedication to informing, inspiring and introducing my clients to products, services and lifestyle choices that promote a healthier way of living.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I think it’s my mission to find hidden gems in my city. One of the first things many of my clients ask me are “have you been anywhere new.”

A couple of my favorite spots are C4 Eats for a vegan lunch with soul food flare.

CLASS Soiree Steakhouse for an upscale private dinning experience, and Cleveland’s for some must have dessert.

When it comes to activities I’m always looking for ways to encounter a memorable experience without the crowds. The Ann Kolb Nature Center never disappoints.

If you are interested in a little booze and brunch make sure you visit the Yellow Green Farmers Market or bring a cooler and dig your toes in the sand at Whisky Creek.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Everything I do is in honor of my mother. She had a stroke in her 40’s and it paralyzed the left side of her body. Before her stroke she was such a hard worker and even after her stroke she overcame obstacles that many doctors didn’t think were possible.

My mother passed several years after her initial stroke, but I remember her drive, and ambition. Memories of her is what keeps me going.
