We had the good fortune of connecting with Chernel “Tweety” Renfro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chernel “Tweety”, why did you pursue a creative career?
The beauty industry was birthed in me, through the premature departure of my two best friends who were deeply passionate and in love with the beauty industry. Since their loss, I have acquired many skills, certifications and degrees. But none of those gave me a sense of fulfillment. It was just another means to a paycheck. I also have done many things to honor their memory, but nothing seem to fill the void of their absence in my life. As if that was even possible. I would find myself sad, wishing they were still here. Then my mind started overflowing with memories of how they made sure we beautified ourselves flawlessly before stepping on any scene and had the best time in those precious moments. I thought to myself I miss those moments and I miss them even the more. So much they became my why for coming into this industry with one mission: Becoming an esthetician.

What should our readers know about your business?
Legacy Stylez was birthed in me in memory of my two best friends. Never once did I think I would be here years later in the beauty industry. But here I am. I’ve developed an unbelievable passion, love and many skills in the beauty industry. I provide a variety of beauty services, which are skincare treatments, body waxing, lash extensions and body sculpting. I specialize in lash extensions, body waxing and body sculpting. My why, the vow to bring the best from me to my client and putting lots of love with careful thought into all I do is what sets me apart from others. My most proud brand-wise and what I want the readers to know about my brand, offerings and service is that my brand Legacy Stylez is personal to me because it’s in memory of my heavenly best friends Mary Martin & Yelena Tarunga. Also, my goal to provide an enjoyable luxurious experience, produce amazing results and for each of my clients to leave my business with love of themselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would visit Celebration Pointe for good food at the Piano Bar, good drinks at Fat Tuesday and amazing entertainment listening to Jazz on the Green for our day/night of fun, laughter and creating memories.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I attribute my success to God who’s the wind beneath my wings, my spiritual mentor, my heavenly best friends, my husband who’s stood by me every step of the way, my children who are my biggest supporters, my three best friends, my family, my business mentors, and those who truly motivate, inspire, encourage and supported my journey, dream and business because without them I would not be where I’m at today and God continues to bless me, my team and my business.
