We had the good fortune of connecting with Chiquita T. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chiquita, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
That as long as you’re consistent, you would become successful someday. Your hard work and dedication is going to take you further. Consistency is the key to success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Right now I’m a full time Officer. What inspired me to create my brand was because I actually suffered from acne nearly all of my teen to adult life. Having acne can be depressing. It can have you with low self esteem. I know what it feels like so I just wanted to help millions of others who were going through the same thing as myself. This brand can be very challenging but it’s exciting at the same time. I actually plan to go full time with Gladiolus Beauty Cosmetics soon. Once I’m able to really focus on my brand. I know the demand of my products are going to be really high! But that’s cool because with the help from my family. We’re moving towards a multi-millionaire brand. I’ve learned that in order to become successful you have to be willing to Sacrifice. You have to be willing to take chances and that’s what I’m all about. After taking chances, investing into my brand. I’ve been doing great and I guess that’s all that matters.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The place everyone hangs out in my city is South Beach. It’s a very exciting place where you can either go hang out on the beach, book a hotel on the beach, chill with friends or even go to different restaurants on the beach. South Beach is where the fun at! A lot of people who visit Miami likes to visit the Versace Mansion on the beach as well. If you’re looking to have drinks and mingle a little, Fat Tuesday’s is the place. There’s a variety of drinks to order that would set the mood for the night.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well, I just want to say that throughout my time building this brand. My family played a big role with helping me to stay motivated and keep things going. I work full time as a Correctional Officer so having to juggle working 8 hours there and coming home to work on my brand is a lot! I’m very grateful for my husband also. There’s times when he would help me. This has actually turned into a family operated brand because my family helps me with inventory, taxes, everything that comes with being a business owner. I want to give a big, big shoutout to my family for all of the love and support. My customers play a big role also because if it wasn’t for them, my brand wouldn’t be where it is today.
