We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Aloizos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process for me behind starting my own business was fairly slim. Slim to none actually. I never thought of having my own business. I had simply made my own jacket with the help of my sister to represent my boyfriend at his baseball games. I had seen some online that really caught my attention and I asked myself “why don’t you try to make it yourself?” In succeeding to make that jacket. I had worn it to games and had got so many compliments on it. His family and my family had told me so many times I should start to think about make them for others. As I though about it I really dug deep into the mind set of, as a Minor / Major League Baseball players girlfriend what was a need for all of us as girlfriends or wives to support our boyfriends or husbands while out on the field. That’s when I came up with the name Lucky customs. Every player has there lucky socks or lucky shoes or something that bring them luck while they are out on the field or court so why not give the girlfriends and wives something they can wear that’s there lucky custom item!
In that thought process , I had came up with a couple of different ideas to grow that part of my business. As it was nearing the end of his season I had come up with other ideas for everyday wear or occasional wear that I can sell at markets to promote my business but not stray away from my main focus. I had come up with everyday custom jackets, T-shirts, sweatshirts and cups along with some makeup bags for travel. Lucky customs has come by storm and I couldn’t be more proud!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Lucky customs was designed to allow our clients to in a unique, custom and creative way to bring their visions of there special lucky everyday or game day item to life. Some of our customizable products range from small acrylic purses, to mugs and tumblers, to jean jackets, to T-shirts to even shoes. I try not to limit what i customize because every one has a vision and i strive to help those visions come to life. Our process is very interactive and always made to the exact liking of our client! I believe that sets us apart from others allowing our client to see there vision on a mock up and allow them to make the changes they would like to that item to be the exact way they would like.

In the process of starting Lucky Customs, there has been a lot of trial and error moments. I knew that starting would not be easy and I had to put myself in the mind set of, yes it was not going to be easy starting a business from scratch, but I will never give up on it because it’s the start of something that will be amazing. And with that mindset it has turned into something amazing, it is not a huge business but it is also not a small business! My very first client once told me “ I respect and love the job you’re doing. But don’t label yourself as a “small business” because you own a full business. Your business has your heart and soul in it, it makes no sense to label it as “small” when there’s so much value in it. Sure, there’s space to grow; but that doesn’t make you small. You are amazing and so is your business, don’t let society put a label to your vision. Always think big so your success comes accordingly. I see you and I feel you, you are an inspiration. Keep it up!” Since then i have grown this business into what I have today and It continues to grow every day!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely try to take them to the best places, and also try to experiance first time things for myself with them too.

Monday- Have a relaxing day at one of our amazing beach’s on the east coast of Florida and have a relaxing dinner at Happy Fish Sushi.

Tuesday- go down to Key Biscayne and ride our bikes or scooters through the town and go see the light house, then after a long day of hanging out at the beach and taking in all the views of the lighthouse head over to Big Pink for dinner.

Wednesday – go to the Vizcaya museum and garden and walk around and take pictures. After that head for a early dinner at Berries in the Grove

Thursday, maybe have another relaxing beach day at Hollywood beach and explore the boardwalk and shops, after head to a nice fancy dinner at Boat Yard Fort Lauderdale

Friday explore Wynwood and all the amazing artwork and shops. At night make reservations at Sexy Fish

Saturday and Sunday are farmers market days, so we would explore all the amazing vendors at a couple of different markets that we can attend. Then at night we could either go to a nice dinner or even make dinner at home from all our farmers market food and vegetables finds!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Some of the people that deserve a shout out are our customers that have supported me through our first market season and all of our online order customers. Without them and there amazing words after receiving there orders keeps me pursuing what I have turned into my passion!

The main people that definitely deserve a single shout out are:
My dad, he has been nothing but supportive through out this whole process so far, he has done so much research with helping me have the best equipment to keep my business at the top and successful!

My mom- she has also been the most supportive in so many ways! She is the first person I go to, to show her the final product after I have finished an order. She has helped me in so many markets from setting up to selling to even cleaning up! When I do markets by myself, when she can she will help me either set up or come helping at the end to clean up after a long day . Sometimes she even just comes with friends hang out with me during those long market hours. She has made all the effort in being there when they aren’t to far!

My sister and brother – There support is also an understatement, weather it’s doing the market with me to help out, to bring friends to markets or staying to the end to help clean up! They have always been there.

And for Orly! The reason behind it all! Between helping me pack my car, to setting up, to even picking designs for items, he has done it all! He has stayed up in the long hours of the night with me to finish up last minute jackets and sweatshirts that are needed for the market the next day. His support, to not only the markets I attend but to my business in general has been nothing but a dream! He has been nothing but supportive from the very beginning!
