We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris B also known as JC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris B, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is one of the most important things I do daily, Each risk creates a benefit weather successful or not. I believe that every risk is an opportunity to THRIVE and LEARN. Every time I get on my bike I am taking a risk. The main risk of stunt riding also known as BIKELIFE is injury, with every new stunt or trick comes the risk of hurting yourself, which of course creates an adrenaline rush, risk plays a big role in why I ride bikes! The risk to reward ratio in the bike scene is as promising as a present on Christmas, making what I do just that much more fun! Say you may be trying to learn a new stunt, you attempt it and fall… Hard, You will most likely never fall the same way again. And boom! there’s the benefit of the risk!! With that, take every risk you can! You never know where you may be if you never TRY!!!!!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have just begun my adventures throughout the world and its mysteries, I think there are multiple factors into what separates me from the crowd. The first factor which I consider to be most important is this, I AM MYSELF!! In this day and age I see too many young people trying to fit into a group or impersonate people/things that they aren’t. There have been countless times where I see people throw their potential out the window for something totally unlike them. When it comes to who YOU are, the best version of you is YOURSELF!! I will never alter who I am to fit in and will ALWAYS stay true to who I am as an individual. My story is far from finished but here are a few things I have learned on my journey. Use every resource you have! Every opportunity is a chance to SHINE, so always try your best. Every challenge is a way to learn, when facing challenges it is important to remember FAILING IS OK. Failing is a way to learn, no successful person has ever truthfully said “I never failed” Because WE ALL DO. Mental health is key too, you will never succeed with a bad mindset, dive into every challenge knowing YOU ARE CAPABLE OF EVERYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love exploring, one place I would LOVE to go to with a friend is France. Each morning we would wake up for tea and pastry, we would than ride our bikes around and explore every inch of Paris until we are completely lost. I think the best adventures are ones totally unplanned. During the afternoon and sunset we would eat wonderful meals by the Eiffel Tower and watch as the day comes to an end, sometimes fun doesn’t have to mean a waterpark or a movie, but exploring nature and the world before it is all gone. I live by the belief ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ And want to be able to explore as much of the world as I can before I am gone.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Although my story has just begun, I would never have picked up a bicycle if it wasn’t for Oneway Corey, Alex (better known as Rozaati) Jake100 and Little Harry, So a massive thank you to those who paved the way for the bike scene and what it is today!!
