We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Lomax and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, what role has risk played in your life or career?
People often think of bold moves as the most risky moves. And there’s some truth to that. But I’ve discovered that taking the safe route is actually more risky because it likely means you’ll never have an opportunity to experience your full potential. Many of the accomplishments that we admire are filled with risks and uncertainty–traveling to the moon, creating a handheld device that connects with anyone across the globe in milliseconds, combining peanut butter and jelly!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m the Founder and Managing Attorney of Lomax Legal, a South Florida-based law firm dedicated to solving problems and securing justice on behalf of its clients. I am most proud of the results that we have achieved for our clients during the 15 months that we’ve been in existence. Creating and building a law firm is an amazing experience. It comes with a lot of interesting challenges and requires patience, adaptability, and a steadfast committment to delivering high-quality service at all times. I’ve found that clients are very excited about the opportunity to work with us and, fortunately, they come back time and time again.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the University of Miami so we would definitely stop by the beautiful campus nestled in Coral Gables. I would spend time in Wynwood and get food from two of my favorite restaurants, Uchi and KYU. We’d take a swing through Historic Overtown and Coconut Grove so that I can provide an overview of what those areas mean to the City and the impact of African-American culture on this town. We’d check out Key Biscayne and spend sometime on the water–likely on a boat, and cap it off with a nice dinner on Giralda prominade at Eating House or Luca Osteria.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this Shoutout to every teacher and professor who poured their time and energy into giving me the knowledge and skillset necessary to do the work that I’m doing today.
