We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We needed a better way to power our electric kite reels in competitive fishing tournaments in South Florida. After winning a big Kingfish tournament a picture of us went viral with the Reel Battery powered kite in the background. We had an incredible demand overnight and needed to act FAST if we wanted to become the name brand battery for electric reels or risk becoming just any other ordinary battery that has come into our space.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are the original and the most sold electric battery for fishing reels. We are Reel Battery! We are used by dominant tournament teams and hardcore commercial anglers as well as weekend warriors alike! Reel Battery is compatible on over 100 reels like Daiwa, Shimano, and Banax!

Getting to where we are at today has been a tough road. We constantly have people knocking off our name, products and even under cutting us. But we remain strong and true that we are the most affordable option with the most value. We will always be here for our customers as if we fish with them on Saturday’s. We are a family run business with care at it’s core.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Define local? If a friend was visiting the first place we would 100% have to go would be off-roading either at River Ranch, Plant Bamboo or a couple low-key spots i know of. We would for sure take out the boat and go out king fishing too!! After all thats said and done we would head back home to smoke a nice brisket.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to shoutout tournament fishing. It created who we are today. Folks like Jimmy Wicket, Joe Hector, Summer Warren and Bill Wummer! They all put together A1 events that are always fun to be apart of. Without these devoted individuals continuing to strive to keep competition fishing alive and well here in South Florida we wouldn’t be the people we are today.
