We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Picasso and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You have to take risks. It’s important to step outside your comfort zone & do things that challenge yourself. It’s necessary, but make sure the risks are calculated and learn from what works & what doesn’t. Taking risks has helped me grow & be open to trying new things that lead to new experiences.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am music. The sound, the process, the feeling and all. I say that to say this, I’m an overall creative. I make my own beats, write & record my music as well as engineer it. I love it, it’s taken many years to learn and get good at what I do but it’s something I enjoy & I’m passionate about. Same With DJ’ing, just being able to provide the sounds to create a fun atmosphere & get people dancing is simply, fantastic.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d start the day off getting some coffee and cinnamon buns with a refreshing martinelli’s from one of the best spots WeVegan. From there, let’s say it falls on a date where we could pull up to see a cars & coffee event at SAFDS and see some cool cars and hang with some dope people. After that we’d hit intermezzo grab a drink or two then head to Izakaya Tori for some sushi. By then it’s night so we can head to The Edition and vibe out. Something slight, keep it cool & player & just have an overall good time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family, they’ve definitely have always wanted to see me succeed and always help motivate & push me to constantly challenge myself for the better. A book that always sticks with me is The Alchemist. It talks about a boy in pursuit of his purpose and the journey it takes to get there. That always resonates with me.
