Meet Christina Benoit | CEO & Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Benoit and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a college student at an HBCU(Historically Black Colleges and Universities), most of us will go through a time where we ask ourselves about having a side hustle. Mine happened to cross my mind in a dorm room after having a conversation with my best friend Jordyn. I was tired of spending my money on glosses at the hair store that was sticky, made my mouth white or didn’t moisturize my lips. Jordyn stated, “You can make your own gloss!” And I had an epiphany!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called C.Beauty Cosmetics. I’m most proud of conducting my first small business pop-up shop in Miami, FL on May 6, 2023. Seeing the community come out and support their local entrepreneurs was so heartfelt! I am where I am today business-wise, because of my little village. The informative conversations with my business colleagues, the networking events and endless conversations with God…. It definitely wasn’t easy! I remember sitting in my dorm room in college contemplating whether to attend a pop up shop or not. The negative thoughts felt neverending but God literally told me to just, GO and I made about $200 in 2-3 hours. Along the way I’ve learned to trust God at a different level, that my products are worth the price and that all the no’s just bring you closer to your YES! It’s okay to ask questions and seek guidance in areas you’re not familiar with or understand. I want the world to know that anything you put time and effort into, you will succeed! I want the world to know that I’m constantly looking for ways to improve myself in all aspects of my life; that my business is only going to elevate and my story will impact small business entrepreneurs and more!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ll take my best friend to Shuckin & Jivin in Miami Gardens or Tica’s Kitchen in Florida City for lunch, Da Cave in North Miami or Bacon Bitch at Bayside for brunch! Empire for a chill hookah and drink night in South Miami or Brick House in Wynwood for a more lively, fun experience. Coyo Taco in Wynwood for amazing tacos, quesadillas, drinks and club vibes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, shoutout to GOD! He’s so strategic and intentional! Overall, shoutout to my best and close friends, those family members who support me and my C.beauties. I appreciate anyone who has brought a product, shared a post, showed up to my events or simply gave me some wisdom regarding my business, thank you!
