We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Anyone that says that a work life balance is not possible… is wrong. However, anyone that says a work life balance is easy…is also wrong. Work life balance is probably one of the most difficult things to manage. But necessary. I used to burn the midnight oil like no one’s business. I was also a single, young woman eager to find my place.
That work life balance one of the things that I am constantly trying to achieve. I think the key to figuring out my balance is realizing that I can’t do it all. Knowing my limits. Don’t get my wrong, I push my limits but I know what they are.
With two, young kids at home I have no choice but to make sure that I step away from work when needed. Aside from the fact that I love what I do. That I truly enjoy my career…what motivates me to keep it going is showing my kids what hard work is all about. Showing my kids what balance is all about.

Allied Global Marketing is a full-service integrated marketing agency working with the world’s largest brands.
My journey in integrated marketing started back in 2006 when I was a college intern. When I started my internship, I was still not 100% sure what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Very soon after, I fell in love with this fast-paced, constantly-changing world and was hooked. Over the past 15 or so years I have learned so much and use that knowledge to keep growing and learning. Through the years I grew in my professional career with the agency and am now the Director of Field for our Multicultural Division.
Among the different brands we work with, we work with most movie studios. To make a long story, short, our job is to make sure you know that the movie is being released and when. Through knowledge of our markets and learning the best ways to target a specific audience I cultivate strategic plans to reach the target consumers for that title within my markets. One of the markets I work with is Miami. Utilizing different means such as earned media, promotional opportunities, and social engagements I spread the word of a film’s release within Miami. Miami is so rich in culture with lots of competition in the market. I thrive on finding the best ways to explore Miami and spread the word about something.
Through the years I’ve also realized that one of my favorite parts of the job is event planning. From the planning, troubleshooting, executing, and completion of the event…I enjoy it all. It comes with its stress points of course, but the end result makes it worth it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely use this experience as a way for me to become a tourist in my own city. So much of the day-to-day we forget to experience what makes Miami so special! A little mix of everything will be the goal. Food ideas would include a range from a cool food truck spot, to a nicer restaurant option , and let’s not forget a stop for some delicious cuban food. A beach day (or two…or three) definitely in the plans. Miami sports has its own culture so a sporting event of some sort has to be included. Even though it will be past my bedtime, some night life is needed…ideally I’d prefer a night out visiting a local bar or beer brewery…but we can explore a club night out. And to round things out we can take a tour of the city…either the sea/land, Duck Tours in Miami Beach and/or the tour through Little Havana.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Nothing I do is possible without my family. My husband and kids are my biggest motivators in everything I do.
