We had the good fortune of connecting with Christophe Serrano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christophe, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am French and I come from the south of France in Provence on the Mediterranean coast

France is one of the most touristic countries in Europe. I have the chance to live in a country that welcomes many foreign guests including Americans who come to get married in Provence, in the French Riviera or in Paris.

But my origins have a significant impact on my business despite all the advantages of France (free hospitalization, free school and university)

A VAT of 20% from only 32000€ for my activity of photographer. Plus 23% of charges if you are in micro enterprise.
And then an income tax proportional to the income of the household whose bracket goes up to 45%.

Basically, even if France is a very nice country, relatively high end and among the richest countries. The average French person earns less than 2500€ net per month before income tax. 80% of the French earn less than 2000€ per month.

We are certainly one of the most taxed and difficult countries in the world. And it is often said that if your business in France is good, it will be incredible abroad
Especially since the purchasing power of the French is very low compared to the wealth of the country

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Tell us about your art. We’d like to know what sets you apart from others, what you’re most proud of, or what excites you the most. How did you get to where you are today professionally? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What lessons have you learned along the way? What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and your story?

I’ve made it into the European Top 10 wedding photographers. This is because my narrative approach that blends with a catalog fashion style that we’ll call editorial gives a new look to what has long been a simple social reporting business. The difficulty is to stand out from the crowd, to mark a sufficiently marked difference so that you become indispensable because it is difficult to find an alternative to your approach

I gave up a job as a sales manager for a big company for my passion. Today I am doing the job I love and it is a success. If people remember the fact that I make reality more beautiful, then I have succeeded in my bet

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would simply take him to eat in a seaside cove in a fisherman’s village that can recall grace, near my home in Provence. Everyone is impressed by this corner of paradise

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes EMPARA. Empara is an online platform for professional photographers. These are trainings that involve the best in their fields. This platform made me trust as a trainer but also brought me a lot in my job. This comes from the fact that the creator Xavier Navarro is an altruistic and generous person who transmits his knowledge without counting
