We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Vlaun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
When you follow your passion, it is more like service than work.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have found that following my inner passion has lead to opportunity while understanding that that the challenges along the way where just preparation.

The more I realized that try to fit a title or mold with often take you away from your innate passion. Ultimately you will be moving further from your authentic self.

The best moments of my business and growth have come from unexpected opportunities while being aligned with my true passion.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I like to start with outdoor landmarks 1st. Let’s begin with a morning at the beach South of fifth. Soak up some salt and sun before heading over to Joe’s Stone Crab for a late lunch.

Next, let’s head down to Viscaya Gardens and then follow that with my favorite restaurant in Coconut Grove Sapore Di Mare for some home made Pasta.

You can’t come to Miami and not see the Wynwood Walls. Spending an afternoon strolling around Wynwood with a pit stop at Wynwood Brewery is a great way to wrap it after tapping into the pulse of the Art scene.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to share a few books that where inspiring and life changing for me. First was “Force Of Nature” by Laird Hamilton. This book for me, was my introduction to the power of fitness, nature and being naturally fit to fit into nature.

The second is, “Supple Leopard” by Dr. Kelly Starret. This book is a like the bible for movement mobility and mobilization of the human body. For anyone who appreciates movement mechanics, preparation and recovery — this is the resource.
