We had the good fortune of connecting with CimplyDan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CimplyDan, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Just be yourself. The only person you “NEED” to please at the end of the day is yourself. This is art & art is always up to the interpretation of the person consuming it. People can sense when you’re being inauthentic or forcing something out of your character. Just do you unconditionally & you’ll always be happy.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art or sound is one of a kind. I being practicing & studying with new genres & sounds to help develop my own style if you will. If you listen to my discography you can see the wide versatility. That’s also what I’m very proud of in my ability to transition between flows/styles. I got to where I am today because I found what I was passionate about & just haven’t stopped working on it. It’s not easy & it’s not hard. Like every journey, you got your highs & you got your lows. I’m just doing me.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The first shoutout is definitely going to my brother & parents for always being supportive no matter what. The second would definitely be my producer & my brothers since grade school for always keeping it real with me.
