We had the good fortune of connecting with Claudia Jannine Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Claudia Jannine, how do you think about risk?
Going out of our comfort zone unlocks a world of possibilities. Moving from one country to another, starting over helps to develop skills, self-awareness, open your mind and learn from different cultures and perspectives, speak new languages, and also gives you the opportunity to share your knowledge to others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Claudia’s experience over 15 years includes a Business Incubator consultant, in Mexico she led the digital transformation of companies, recognized as the best e-Business in Mexico by CNN en Expansion and the Google Partner with the largest growth in Latin America. In the Netherlands, Claudia won in 2019 the “Changemakers Challenge” scaling up business with a positive impact. Claudia is a guest lecturer at MIT and currently works at EveryMundo in Miami, where she started in 2020 helping airlines to restart and grow after Covid with scalable technology.

Starting in new country requires getting out of your comfort zone, find help, mentors, advocates and colleagues for continuos learning.

I learned from the triathlon discipline that the moment you feel like something is more difficult than you thought, more uncomfortable, it is the moment where the majority of people give up, and the moment you need to try harder. Additionally, being surrounded by a team with the same goals will be a huge help to achieve it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A bike ride through the Venetian way and the board walk in Miami Beach to South Pointe. Lunch at Mi Rinconcito Mexicano and La Migaja Bakery, in Calle 8

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Jay Shetty says that when you receive a compliment accept it but think about the person that helped you acquired that skill or ability.

I want to shoutout Rosemary Ravinal for helping me and allowing me to organize PechaKucha Nights, the challenging format of talks that also create a great community in Miami and highlight the local heroes in our city.
