We had the good fortune of connecting with Claudia Batres and Josey Taveras and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Claudia and Josey, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity. Our brand is focused on encompassing all it means to be a self-healer: healing yourself emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We can only do that by being honest with ourselves and being vulnerable with our customers and clients. Holistic healing is a life-long journey, and we want to inspire everyone to come along this journey with us, but we can only do that if we are living our truth and practicing what we preach.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
CHAKRATEAS was founded in traditional healing modalities as well as holistic methods. We, the founders, are both Certified Master Herbalists and Reiki Practitioners. Claudia has also been an active registered nurse for over ten years. We combined our experience and training to create herbal blends that address not just the physical body, but also the mental and spiritual body. We believe that true and long-lasting transformation must address all three of these areas. With this in mind, each herbal blend contains herbs and fruit to support the healing, clearing, and balancing of our energetic centers- the chakras! Honestly, we hear so often that friends shouldn’t get into business together, however, because we are as dedicated to our personal growth as we are to the development of CHAKRATEAS, we have consistently proven we can rely on each other as friends and business partners. We can truly say that we are where we are today through our mutual support, kindness, understanding, but also accountability.

Along the way, we’ve learned the importance of staying true to ourselves and filling our own cup, meaning no matter how much work needs to get done, we continuously prioritize our physical, mental, and spiritual health through daily meditation, exercise, yoga, and a healthy diet.

We want to bring more awareness to complementary and alternative healing methods into western culture. We believe both traditional and holistic methods can and should coexist and we are proud to be a part of the movement towards the integration of the two!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We tend to connect with the outdoors, so we love hitting up our local parks. Claudia’s favorite park is Tree Tops with all of the gorgeous greenery, you almost feel like your in a forest! Josey’s favorite park is Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. Here you can have the best of both worlds. You can explore the nature walks and later walk across North Ocean Blvd and head to the beach. We love to sit out, listen to music, journal, swim, and lay out in the sun. From there we frequently drive down the road to eat at SoBe Vegan and enjoy some vegan fast food! Other times, we like to head south to Kendall and visit Aguacate Sanctuary of Love. They host daily outdoor yoga, weekly meditations, and give you a chance to feed their loving animals.

However, we are complete believers in balance, and a way we love to break out of the routine is to head to The Wharf in Ft. Lauderdale on a Friday or Saturday night and dance our hearts out!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to thank Mayzara Chavarria, our first spiritual teacher, who pointed a flashlight at all the shadows and all the things we kept hidden that needed healing in order for us to believe in ourselves. She has continuously provided guidance and wisdom throughout the last 2 years of our lives. She does so with tough love, but love nonetheless, and we greatly admire her ability to be so raw and open.
