We had the good fortune of connecting with Clean Cut and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Clean, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Although the members of Clean Cut have known each other since college, The band has been together for about a year and some change. We began to conceptualize Clean Cut during the pandemic and some of us were living in other states. It was a very difficult time for musicians. We were in a constant state of uncertainty. Not only for our career but for our own well-being and that of our loved ones. We decided to band together in Miami and began writing songs together even though we couldn’t perform and had no idea when wed be able to. We knew that we needed to organize our band like a business as well as an artistic collaboration between the four of us. There was a lot to be done (especially for a group of independent artists) but the music we were creating and the strength of our friendship motivated and inspired us to exceed our own expectations.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We all come from different musical backgrounds and experiences. When it come to our writing, we incorporate different styles of music and experiment with different approaches in the studio. We love to tell stories and incorporate real life experiences into our lyrics. But most of all we love to have fun, connect with our audience and play for the moment. Our music is full of catchy hooks and complex harmony. The Chemistry that we share as well as our own individual charismas set us apart from other artists. Something that you can only witness by watching us play live. Collectively we’ve worked with over 300 artists over the last 10 years as individuals. I feel that we had a lot of real world experience in the field of music up to the point where we decided to form Clean Cut a little over a year ago. And even then it wasn’t easy. We had to take on roles in the business that we otherwise would not be responsible for such as booking and social media management. We’ve learned so much about ourselves, music, and the business behind it all. We Feel we’ve come a long way. What started off at a restaurant in Coral Gables would eventually become a performance at the FTX Arena for a Miami Heat Halftime show at the playoffs. We actually have an upcoming competition showcase at The Ground on Jan 28 to try and make it to Okeechobee Music Festival. Were really really excited about that. We also have alot of music and music videos coming out in the next few months.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to give a huge shoutout to Carmen Parra one of the band moms the hosted rehearsals in the very beginning. Huge shoutout to Franco Bacigalupo. He has invested his time and money into our vision and his been extremely supportive since the beginning. A warm shoutout to Blue Mystic for all the awesome collaborations that we’ve been a part of and for being a fan since day 1. Shoutout to all of those that have helped us out along the way such as Dan, Sammi Jordan, Tom, Tony, Dadfilmedit, Joe from Vanquish Studios, Carlos Alfonso (If we missed anybody were sorry we love you all) and the biggest shoutout to all of our friends that have come to support us at our shows. You know you are.
