We had the good fortune of connecting with Clinton K. Powell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Clinton K., is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.” I learned that verse at the age of 8, when I participated in what was known as Bible Quiz at my local church at the time. It has been my mantra, affirmation, and quote that I live by ever since then. I don’t always execute it perfectly without doubt, but I repeat it often. For me, this quote is the foundation of which I live my life and the glue that holds me together when life hits me from all angles. While studying engineering at Florida State University, it was on my room wall. When I was interviewing for jobs, I repeated it to myself. When I started on my entrepreneurship journey, married my wife, and started a family, the bible verse was my saving grace. Through all my success and failures, I reminded myself, I cannot doubt but trust in God. The reason this quote is so powerful to me, is because it brings me back in alignment that I am a child of God and as a result it’s not my responsibility to figure it out. My only role in life is to trust God. So, whether it relates to family, my health, my career, my emotions, or even my mental state, it’s not my job to worry, but to walk in God’s favor and never lose faith.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As mentioned, I am a serial entrepreneur and as such I’ve had the opportunity to wear many hats over the last 2 decades which, I believe, lead me where I am today. As an engineer by trade, I utilized my skill set that I’ve acquired over the last 2 decades to organize, streamline, and optimize everything that I touch. From my years working in the music business and the fashion industry, to my time in concert promotions and event planning etc. One single trait that continues to be consistent, is my love of helping others find their voice in a world that can be very noisy. So much so that all I do now can be summed up into 3 phrases; Ignite Purpose, Empower Vision, and Transform Lives. Everything that I do in this life and every business that I launch will accomplish either one or all three of those phrases. With Clinton K. Powell LLC Coaching, I help aspiring entrepreneurs identify their purpose and turn their passion into profits. Through group coaching, masterminds, and mentorship, I help middle-aged employees who feel stuck, identify their dream, and shift them from a day dreamer to a dream doer.
Through One Voice Leadership Summit, we unite the voices of Personal Growth, Faith, and the Marketplace. Leaders, pastors, entrepreneurs, and professionals can empower their vision and truly make a lasting decision for change. This is a weekend summit filled with masterclasses, breakout sessions and general sessions lead by industry geniuses who are living proof that success is available to anyone who is willing to put in the work.
Lastly, all my clients can and will transform their lives through the previous services I mentioned, however partnering with nVisionu is a game changer. With this company, I allow my clients to see other avenues of wealth creation to achieve the vision they have for themselves. Through proven products and services, they can build a brand that you can trust and help other families achieve their financial dreams as well.
Although, I may have made all that I do seem cohesive, well-oiled and without flaw, that is further from the truth. When you are an entrepreneur, life and business can be challenging. There are no days off when you are an entrepreneur and building something special and offering true value to those that you serve. I’ve had to learn how to priority management and not time management. You can’t ever manage time because it will constantly move, but you can manage your priorities. I had to learn to navigate a marriage, family, and all my projects. Sometimes I got it right and others I got it dead wrong. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to value people over things and value spending time with them. There is nothing more important than to spend quality time with your loved ones, because they can be here today and gone tomorrow.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I love my city. For a weeklong excursion in Miami, I would recommend the usual suspects such as South Beach, Wynwood and Brickell. All 3 areas provide a unique look at what we know and love so much about Miami. They should take advantage of our great weather, Jet Skiing, Kayaking, and boating to hang out on one of the sand banks or take a tour of Star & Fisher Islands etc. When it comes to the food, you must try local cuisines such as House of Mac, Big Pink, Pizza Rustica on South Beach to name a few. Oh, how can I forget Red Rooster, the food is amazing, and the live music sets a nice vibe.
Lastly, if my friends are visiting, they will definitely need to do some shopping, so Aventura Mall, Bal Harbor Shops or head south to Lincoln Road for some options as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow, where do I start? I would first like to acknowledge my beautiful and supportive wife Sophia. She gives me the space to test every farfetched and crazy idea I come up with. I wouldn’t be able to do what I do daily without her support. As it relates to other key figures or organizations, I would have to say life’s journey up to this point. As I mentioned in my book, “Who’s in Your Backyard”; everyone’s experiences prepare them for the role they will play in their destiny only if we are able to connect the dots. However, the last three years I would contribute my success to John C. Maxwell and the Maxwell Leadership Team. As a certified member I have been exposed and experienced extraordinary coaching, events, training, and trips that has truly shaped not only my professional life, but that of my family and my faith in Christ. As a result, I am truly grateful for the exposure and the opportunities that followed the Maxwell connection.
