We had the good fortune of connecting with Coach Valentin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Coach, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
That happened to me in a very organic way. Back in the day, I was 14 years old and very skinny. One day I decided to join a gym and start training with weights. I fell in love with the training process and my curious mind was filled with questions. I took a path to college and learned how the human body works. Suddenly the people around me at that time started to ask me for fitness advice. Then I realized I could charge a few bucks and make my living as a personal trainer.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My job as a coach involves working with people in their process of becoming physically and mentally awesome, that is incredible for me. Helping people in their fitness journey, working with them as a team to achieve their goals. There is a pleasure that has no match and is the process of seeing a body/mind transformation in my clients.
I’ve worked and studied very very hard for a lot of years, saying no to social events and distractions. That is not easy, you need focus and discipline to overcome the challenges, but the reward is worth it. In the age of distraction, focus is a superpower.
I’m lucky, I picked the right road early and I stayed with it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, that depends on the guest and the weather! Brickell is a good place to start, we could walk through the area and drink a good cup of coffee at Rosetta Bakery. Then we can cross downtown and walk through The Bayfront Park. At the end, we can take the Metromover and go to Edgewater and have a nice view of the city and the water. Of course, walking to Wynwood to see all the attractions and eat in some restaurants in the area. The beach is also always a good plan.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I agree with that. Something that changed my life for good was reading Ayn Rand’s books. Their ideas gave me the clarity and the tools that I needed to succeed in life. I read all of them but one of my favorites is The Fountainhead.
