We had the good fortune of connecting with Colleen Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Colleen, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Gratitude and customer service are the two main factors that I feel push my businesses forward and keeps them afloat. Gratitude is my first and most important factor because clients and customers always have choices regarding where they will spend their money. Therefore, when I am the chosen one I am honored and I make sure my clients know that. Customer service is one of my top priorities to keeping my business successful because many of my new clients are referrals from people that I have serviced that can vouch for my work.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Doing eyelashes has given me a lot of creative confidence in myself that I know I didn’t have before. That confidence has also caused me to find myself being more assertive and intentional in my personal life and other business ventures. The way I’ve gotten where I am professionally in this industry is constantly learning through different experiences I have with each and every one of my clients. They are my therapy as I am theirs. Doing what I do has made the process a breeze because I pray every morning going to work for myself and my clients. I always end up having a good day. Lessons I have learned along the way is to keep practicing, continue to learn new things and new ways to do them, and always have a good attitude no matter what is going on around me. What I would like the world to know about my brand is that it will continue to grow and expand with new products and services. I have big things planned for the future and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on with the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The very first place I would take them ok the first day would be to Morgan’s in the Design District for brunch. Their food and ambiance is amazing. When I travel I enjoy learning things about the places I visit so a few planetariums, museums and gardens would also crowd up the itinerary. Hang out spots I enjoy although I don’t go out much are in Wynwood. There is always a nice bar or club to catch a vibe in.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My son is always my driving force. But, outside of him my entire family has been supportive and flexible with the direction my business is going in and making sure that I prosper.
