We had the good fortune of connecting with Conor Flynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Conor, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
To follow my heart and gut instincts. I was tired of wearing a “costume” in the corporate world and talking about things I lacked passion for. The biggest risk to me was getting trapped doing something I did not love.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. When I finished my MBA, I started a few businesses with former clients of mine when I was in wealth management. Things did not go as planned, and through the ups and downs I decided to go back into the corporate world.  I told myself that when it was time to start a new business venture to make sure that it would be something I’m truly passionate about. is when I entered the coffee business. At the time it was a side business and I worked endlessly nights and weekends trying to make my side hustle a full-time gig. Now we have two coffee companies (Rx Coffee and Immortal Coffee) and I am the co-owner of Immortal Martial Arts Center with UFC legend Matt “The Immortal” Brown. The road that got me here has been extremely difficult and required many sacrifices. I gave up time, money, and relationships to pursue my passion of coffee, fitness, and martial arts. My biggest fear was getting trapped in the corporate world doing something I did not love, just to make money to buy things that I do not need. The biggest risk in life for me has always been to become complacent in where I am, because that is not where I am going, even though the destination is unknown.  I continue to find growth through constant struggle both in business and martial arts. Someone once told me, “if you wait until you’re ready, you will be waiting the rest of your life”. Our brands seek to provide the highest quality fresh roasted specialty coffees and empower people through fitness. Living a healthy lifestyle is vital to not only my mentality and wellbeing, but to the success of our businesses. I’ve always believed there is only a Plan A and no Plan B, because not focusing 100% of your time and energy on what you truly are going after sets you up for failure. Plan A is constantly evolving and a plethora of other business ventures continue to emerge out of it.  My journey all started by following my true passion and the script of my life continues to be written each and every day by following my heart and intuition.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This depends on where I am. Everything in my world revolves around fitness. I have been splitting time between my hometown of Miami, FL and Columbus, OH where our gym is located. If in Columbus we would be at Immortal Martial Arts Center, Westside Barbell, running trails in the country, or at the range shooting. If in Miami, we would be at Focused Movement Academy (an OCR – obstacle course training facility and gym), The Goat Shed Academy (Mixed Martial Arts), Move Lift Live (CrossFit and functional fitness) or Live Free Community Fitness (fitness of all sorts). Running on the sand in South Beach, running the Rickenbacker Causeway or through Brickell. Having drinks at American Social, hanging out in Wynwood, or enjoying the Magic City by boat.
