We had the good fortune of connecting with Corinne Kopsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corinne, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The Salt and Light Coalition is a non-profit in Chicago dedicated to helping trafficking survivors heal and rebuild their lives, achieving self-sufficiency through workforce development. We have helped nearly 50 women in their journey toward these goals.

Through our program, women heal from their trauma and develop skills they need to succeed in the workforce.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a trafficking survivor myself, who came to the organization back in 2017. I have since earned a degree, am a few months away from my second, and have come back to work at Salt and Light as the Operations Manager, sharing my skills with the organization that started it all for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d go to the foxtrot on Wells and Hubbard for coffee, then to the museums, planetarium and maybe the aquarium. I’m a bit of a nerd 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This is dedicated to Dr. Izabel Olson. She is the founder of our organization and has volunteered her time for nearly five years to help women in their journey.
