We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Burg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I remind women of their worth and help them break free from codependency and people pleasing. After years of 1 on 1 coaching, I felt called to create a space where women could access the course work and material whenever they wanted to. In 2020 I launched Discover Your Worth and now women from all over the world are able to utilize the material and connect with each other for accountability and support.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work was born somewhat organically. I found that I was stuck always trying to keep the peace, people please, perform. I was highly codependent and struggled with setting and maintaining proper boundaries with family and friends. Throughout my journey I searched for the tools and resources necessary to break these bad habits and cycles, but there really wasn’t anything out there. I began to post openly and honestly about my journey on social media, wrote articles for my local newspaper, and shared my story at some local women events. I quickly learned that I was not alone and that there were women all over the world just like me who needed guidance and support. That led me to begin offering 1 on 1 coaching to assist women through this process of breaking free, healing, and rising up. After years coaching I felt called to do more. I decided to distill down all of these concepts into self-led video courses to make them more accessible to more women with the launch of Discover Your Worth. DYW is an online membership with self-paced video courses, monthly master classes, mini-master classes, PDFs, journal prompts, meditation, access to a community forum to ask and answer questions, plus much more; and… my favorite part, direct e-mail support with me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a Jupiter-area native, currently just living a few minutes from where I grew up, there are just so many great experiences our area has to offer. For an out of town visitor though, there are some truly must-dos. First, breakfast at the Lazy Loggerhead in Juno Beach is a top pick. There’s always a line, but it’s well worth the wait. Next up would be a visit to the historic Jupiter Lighthouse; no visit to the area would be complete without a tour where, from the top, offers a breathtaking view of the area. Of course, this being a beach town we would certainly have to head to Jupiter Beach which is a rare 2-mile long dog-friendly beach. A1A is also a great place to squeeze in a run! To add some more adventure, especially for kids, we’d head to Blueline Surf & Paddle Co. for a surf or paddle board session. A tour of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a great experience for any age, but particularly for kids. For a nice afternoon treat, we’d stop at Palm Beach Ice Cream in Tequesta. Finally, we’d head to the Square Grouper on the Jupiter Inlet for live music, views of the inlet, and endless boat watching.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband and our children. My husband’s love enabled me to start the journey to break free of codependency and begin to establish proper boundaries in all of my relationships. My children have provided me necessary reflection to see that I was repeating patterns and behaviors that had been passed down from generations before me.
