We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think taking risks are a part of life and more importantly growth. In order to grow we have to spread our wings and move out of our comfort zones. A huge risk that I recently took was relocating in the middle of a global pandemic. I literally packed my car and drove 1000 miles to my new home here in South Florida. Was it scary? yes, but it’ has been an amazing experience and has opened doors for me in ways that I could not have imagined. I believe that it’s important to bet on yourself and go after the things that you want. You‘’ll never know unless you try. I’d rather at least make an attempt and fail rather than to have never tried at all.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have worked in the social services/non-profit field for over a decade. It has had its challenges however I was able to create lasting friendships with people I have met throughout my journey. It has also taught me the importance of self care. This industry can be quite demanding and overwhelming at times but blogging has been a great outlet for me and something that I really enjoy doing. I have always loved fashion and I have branched out over the past year by starting my Youtube channel . My goal is to inspire women and give them tips on how to use fashion to express themselves without breaking the bank. I love a good deal.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to go is the Miami Design District. There’s always some type of an event going on and they have really cool stores and great food. Another must for me is Aventura Mall. It’s great for shopping as well as a variety of dining options and pop up shops. The Hard Rock Casino is another must see. I think that it is absolutely beautiful inside and great for pics. You can’t come to South Florida without going to the beach. I really enjoy Fort Lauderdale Beach but Peanut Island is the top of my list in Palm County. As for nightlife, I would have to say Wynwood. The art is amazing and there’s plenty of things to do and eat in the area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am really fortunate to have a strong support system and amazing friends. They truly inspire me to think bigger and work harder. Whether it’s encouraging words or sending me articles, books or even memes, I know that I can count on them to give me sound advice and an honest perspective. On the topic of books, one book that I believe has been very instrumental in my growth is by Jen Sincero. She has several great books but her story helped me to shift my mindset and really become serious about making changes rather than playing small and being comfortable.
