We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Weber and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, what do you attribute your success to?
Staying authentic to who I am and only writing about what I enjoy is the most important factor to the success of my brand. There have been many times when I sit down to write, and the topic I am writing about just doesn’t resonate with me, so I change it. Every post I publish comes naturally.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always loved writing. Historically, I had used it as a therapeutic practice, only to be seen by my own eyes. As I have grown older and endured more experiences I started to think “I can’t be the only adult experiencing (and subsequently journaling) about these things?” So I made my thoughts more public. Starting a blog was not as easy as I had imagined. There is a lot more “behind the scenes” work that goes into a successful blog. I definitely had to do my research! My motivation to continue was my love of writing, and my end goal of creating an inclusive area where anyone could go to read, share and laugh about common interests and struggles. We all have so many shared experiences about the common topics of young adulthood; mental health, physical health, travel, and finances. More than we may like to admit. My blog is about bonding and rejoicing over the shared struggles of adulthood in a safe space. Think of it as a “big sister” blog; where you come for advice and comfort. I had spent a better portion of my twenties trying to be someone else, because that is what I saw being portrayed on social media and that was the advice I was given. When I graduated from college at age 25, I felt so behind. I want others to read my blog and feel welcomed. I definitely don’t have all the answers, but I am sharing what I have learned about body image, skin care, travel, finances and much more to hopefully make your adulthood experience more relaxing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Assuming the weather is nice (I like it warm and sunny), we are spending the whole day outside! Start the day off with a trip to the farmers market and stop at a local cafe for breakfast afterwards. I would love to then go on a hike or do some R&R at the beach. Finish the day off by grilling (mostly for the grill smell) and eating dinner beside a campfire.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be in the position I am in within the support and encouragement from two very important people. My mom raised me believing that I could do and be anything that I want as long as I put my mind to it. With that, she was encouraging of every path I went down and a shoulder to cry on for struggles along the way. Not to mention I got my creative writing genes from her, so that’s an obvious plus. Additionally, my boyfriend has been my biggest cheerleader and consistently believes in me even when challenges arise. I am so grateful to both of them for their endless love and support.
