Meet Cril Lahrssen | CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cril Lahrssen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cril, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business during the pandemic, at a time when loungewear became essential to everyone’s daily life. I noticed there was a gap in the market for elegant, good quality loungewear that was still affordable, so I set out to design a lounge set that felt elevated but could still be worn comfortably at home or on the go.
My goal was to create something that made people feel put together maintaining comfort. That first lounge set really resonated with my audience, and to this day, it’s still our best-seller. From there, I gradually expanded into other clothing categories while maintaining the same focus: high quality, stylish pieces at a budget-friendly price point. That foundation continues to guide everything we do at Sister Store Concept.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sister Store Concept is a Latina-owned boutique I launched during the pandemic, originally focused on designing elegant, high-quality loungewear at an affordable price. I wanted to create pieces that made people feel confident and comfortable — whether they were at home or out running errands. Our first lounge set became a customer favorite and is still our best-seller to this day. From there, we gradually expanded into curated fashion collections that are versatile, stylish, and always budget-conscious.
What sets us apart is the heart behind the brand. Everything is handpicked with intention — we focus on pieces that feel elevated, wearable, and accessible. I also think people connect with the story and the community we’ve built. It’s not just about selling clothes — it’s about creating a space where people feel inspired and seen.
Getting to where we are today hasn’t been easy. Like any small business, I’ve faced challenges — from production delays to navigating social media growth to closing our physical location and moving fully online. But I’ve learned to be adaptable, to trust my gut, and to lean into the support of my community.
What I’m most proud of is that I never gave up, even when things felt uncertain. I started this brand when I was 23, and now at 27, I’m running it full-time — every detail, every drop, every connection with my customers.
If there’s one thing I’d want the world to know, it’s that Sister Store Concept was built with a lot of passion, late nights, and love — and it continues to grow because of the amazing people who support it. My hope is that when someone wears one of our pieces, they feel good, confident, and like the main character in their own story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit me in Miami for a week, I’d make sure they got the full experience — from beach days and rooftop cocktails to local food gems and creative inspo. Here’s how I’d plan it out:

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely — my journey wouldn’t be what it is without the support of both my family and friends. From the very beginning, my family has helped however they could — whether it was packing orders, assisting at pop-ups, or simply being there with encouragement during the tough moments. Their belief in me has been everything.
My friends also played a huge role. I even used them as models when I was first starting out! They showed up, shared the brand, hyped me up, and made the early days of Sister Store Concept feel exciting and full of love.
This shoutout is for all of them — for believing in the vision, showing up when it mattered, and reminding me that building a dream is never a solo journey.
