Meet Crystal Daye | Global Book and Marketing Coach, CEO of DayeLight Publishers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Daye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2016, I decided I wanted to write a book and I was searching for a publisher and it was such a struggle to find a Caribbean publisher and when I looked internationally I struggled to find faith-based ones. Eventually, when I found a publisher, I didn’t think they offered enough support on my author journey. During the process, I started studying the publishing industry, and marketing and branding, which helped me become an International Amazon Bestseller within 48 hours of my book being released. A few months later, in January 2017, I felt God was leading to me leave my Corporate job to launch my publishing company. The company was birth from the need for providing quality and professional done-for-you publishing services for faith-based non-fiction authors. We take them from idea to printed book to monetizing their book into multiple streams of income.

What should our readers know about your business?
DayeLight Publishers is a faith-based publishing and marketing consultancy company that is committed to helping new and aspiring authors to write, publish, market and monetize their books. We offer done-for-you publishing services while teaching authors how to sell more books, grow their brand globally and impact lives with their message. We publish self-help books, devotionals, journals, poetry books, business and career-oriented books etc. Our specialty is non-fiction books that empower, impact and educate readers.

We act as a guiding agent, by offering done-for-you services for authors to get the book out to the target audience. We are not here for ownership so when clients publish with us, they keep 100% of their royalty.
Another major competitive advantage is that we offer book marketing consultancy where we teach the authors how to promote and sell their books to increase their impact and income.

I think the biggest challenges include the mindset of many aspiring authors especially locally who think because they can publish a book on Amazon for free, it means they shouldn’t invest in getting their books professionally done. Also, the idea that once you publish a book on Amazon people will actually buy it (that’s so not true – which is a big disappointment for many).

Through my social media posts and many blogs on our website, we try to educate aspiring and newly published authors, that books don’t sell themselves. So, if they really desire to sell books to impact lives, they should invest in their dreams of getting their book done professionally.

WOW… In 5 years, we have worked with over 500 authors to bring their books to life in 10 countries. Under the DayeLight Publishers imprint, we have over 150 authors with many bestsellers.
Also, in 2022 we launched a 2-Day event for new and aspiring authors: 1) Reach Millions Author Live (an intensive workshop where we teach the authors how to write, launch and monetize their books). 2) Kingdom Author Success Book Fair & Awards Conference (where we award authors in 10 categories while providing a marketplace where published faith-based authors can get exposure, visibility and sales).

We’re excited that the 2nd staging will be June 30 & July 1, 2023.

We are super proud of our clients, as many of them have been featured on major local and international platforms, launch professional speaking and coaching careers, monetize their books through courses, membership and high-end coaching programs, won international book awards, launched podcasts, hosted Barnes & Nobles and other bookstore signings, grew their income drastically and hosted sold-out events.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Miami is one of my favorite hang out spots. I enjoy going to the Miami Zoo with my kids and family. I enjoy hanging out at the restaurants near the beaches.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to shout out my family (I have the best support system). My family believes in me, they support me and just always there for me (during my highs and lows).
