We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Honeycutt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
I love Jess Connolly’s book, “You are The Girl For The Job”. I reference her often when I’m training new social media managers or working with my 1:1 clients.

I recommend everyone read it because you will be reminded that the work God called you to do isn’t the work He called someone else to do. You were already qualified before called you and you ARE the girl for the job.

One of the most impactful takeaways for me was if I don’t do the work He’s called me to do, He will call someone else.

When I’m in my head and feeling doubt creep in (because even the most successful people have doubts & fears), I remind myself: I AM THE GIRL FOR THIS JOB.

Read the book, trust me, you will not regret it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My journey began when my son was little & a story that still breaks my heart when I share. I left work early one day to surprise him at pickup after school and as I got to the front of the line, the teacher didn’t know who I was. Because I had never been able to pick him up after school, she didn’t realize I was his mom.

At that moment, I decided, things were going to change. Since then, 14 years later, my purpose has been the same as it was the day I began working for myself, I want to teach other women they can achieve anything they set their mind to & they are good enough as they are.

I started in network marketing, transitioned to owning my own fitness company & brand with hundreds of certified instructors across the United States & Canada, to now working in social media & marketing. It doesn’t matter if I’m in front of a group fitness class or helping a female entrepreneur be seen & heard, my work is to help others shine bright.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandmother was the biggest influence in my life. I spent every summer, weekend, and holiday break with her on her dairy farm in a rural area back in a dead end holler in East TN. I was considered the runt & puny but that didn’t excuse me from having chores (although I tried to get out of them as much as possible and was often upset because I didn’t get to do the same jobs as my cousins). As a little girl, it was my job to hoe weeds out of (what seemed like never ending) rows of tobacco plants, work in the garden, and other farm tasks I hated so much. I’d complain, whine, moan, and fuss but she never let me skip out on my chores. She’d say: “if you don’t work, you don’t eat”.

Although I may have had horrible work ethic as a child, the words she spoke to me stuck with me my entire life.
