We had the good fortune of connecting with Daijonae Knuckles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daijonae, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing that I’ve done as a parent in terms of the impact of my chid was to know my identity in Christ. I had so many insecurities. I didn’t know my worth, and I was always trying to please people just to be accepted. But through experiencing a separation in my marriage, I realized that I needed to work on myself. I needed to unpack the reasons why I did certain things and reacted certain ways, and they all came down to the fact that I did not know what God said about me. When I started to realized that God said that I am his special treasure, that I am his child, that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, then that’s where the healing started to happen. I was able to empower myself, trust as well as have confidence in God. This led me to writing a children’s book. I wrote “WHO I AM” which is a book of affirmations for children to learn what God says about them in the Bible. I needed to find a way to relay this information that I had learned about identity in Christ in a way my daughter could understand. I wanted to start her off young, she was only 2. But I knew that if she learned this as a child, she may not succumb to the same insecurities I had, and that was the goal.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am in both professional field and a creative. I am the author of the children’s book “WHO I AM”. I’ve written a guided journal, I am in the process of publishing my book “Pain 2 Purpose” and I am working on becoming Formative Coach for faith based women who are in the transiting out of toxic marriages whether they are separated, newly divorced or divorced and still struggling. I also work in Quality at a manufacturing company that produces hair care products such as relaxers, shampoos, conditioners, etc. I believe God and my degree in Cosmetic Science and Formulation Design helped me to get to where I am professionally and God helped me get where I am creatively. It was not easy but I stuck by faith and he guided my foot steps. I’ve learned to not compare yourself to others, everyone’s journey is different and we have to walk out our own paths. I want the world to know that my faith in God has been the biggest treasure in my life, he has gotten me through some of the toughest times in my life and I would like everyone reading this to put their trust and God and he will help you get to where you need to go!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I just recently moved to the Atlanta area about a year ago and I am more of a home body but I would say I would take them to do fun things such as arcades like Andretti’s, malls like Perimeter Mall, and food from Maggiano’s Little Italy. Since it’s a week trip we could drive to Florida which is only 4-6 hours away depending and go to a beach or to Disney!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out God first! Then Patrice Washington and my P2P sisters! Specifically Lariel, Tamiko, Chebria, Nicole, Kela, Tameka, Adrian and Tawanna! I have been a part of a 12 week coaching program called Purpose 2 Platform and it has been the best experience I’ve had thus far regarding business, purpose, and sisterhood.
