Hi Dane-Michael, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has been a tapestry of experiences, each thread woven with lessons, challenges, and triumphs. To really dive into my resume feel free to visit my LinkedIn profile. What sets me apart is my relentless pursuit of growth, both personally and professionally. I’m a lifelong learner, and my journey has been marked by a series of endeavors that have shaped my understanding of business, community, and self.
One of my earliest ventures was Concentric Clothing Concepts, an apparel line that, despite its promise, ultimately failed. The experience was a financial and emotional setback, but it was also a profound learning opportunity. It taught me the importance of resilience, the value of calculated risk, and the necessity of adaptability.
Then came Barbell Academy, a business I nurtured over a decade. This venture was my proving ground for mastering the intricacies of online marketing. It was far from easy; I had to learn the ropes the hard way. But the payoff was sweet—I successfully exited the business, armed with invaluable insights and a skill set that would serve me well in future endeavors.
Throughout my career, I’ve invested countless hours in self-development. I’ve organized book clubs and mastermind groups to foster collective learning. I’ve delved deep into psychoanalysis and journaling to better understand what makes me tick. This highly analytical approach to self-improvement has been a cornerstone of my personal and professional growth.
Today, I’m the proud founder of ThirdSpace, a community-centric platform that embodies all the lessons, values, and experiences I’ve gathered along the way. It’s a culmination of my journey, and I’m incredibly excited about its potential to impact lives and communities positively.
So, what do I want the world to know about me and my brand? It’s simple: I’m committed to creating spaces that empower individuals to grow, connect, and thrive. I believe in the transformative power of community, and I’m living proof that with the right mindset, resilience, and a thirst for learning, you can turn life’s challenges into stepping stones for success.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were to visit South Florida for a week, they’d be in for the adventure of a lifetime! Having lived in this vibrant region from Port Saint Lucie to Brickell, I’ve got the inside scoop on all the must-see spots. Our journey would be a whirlwind tour, crisscrossing from east to west, north to south, to experience the rich tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and flavors that make South Florida so unique.
First on the agenda would be a culinary odyssey. From the sizzling Latin flavors in Little Havana to the fresh seafood along the coast, we’d indulge in a gastronomic tour of my all-time favorite eateries. Trust me, your taste buds would be doing a happy dance!
But it’s not just about the food; it’s about soaking in the culture. We’d make stops at renowned museums like the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach and the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, where we’d immerse ourselves in a world of artistic brilliance. And speaking of art, no trip would be complete without a visit to Wynwood Walls, Miami’s epicenter of street art and hipster culture.
For a touch of luxury and a dash of glamour, we’d stroll down Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, window-shopping and perhaps indulging in a little retail therapy. And let’s not forget the natural beauty South Florida has to offer. A drive down the scenic A1A highway would be the cherry on top, offering breathtaking views of the ocean on one side and the Intracoastal Waterway on the other.
So, whether it’s the arts, the food, the shopping, or just the sheer beauty of the landscape, South Florida has something for everyone. And I can’t think of a better way to showcase this incredible region than a week-long extravaganza with my best friend.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely, success is never a solo endeavor, and I’m incredibly grateful for the constellation of mentors, inspirations, and supporters who have illuminated my path.
First and foremost, I’d like to give a special shoutout to Peter Vegso, an old boss and original publisher of Chicken Soup for The Soul. He is someone I learned a lot about business from and his business model was the spark that ignited the idea for ThirdSpace.
I’m also deeply indebted to my mentors, George Wight and Richard Pratt. Their guidance, support, and mentorship have been instrumental in navigating the complexities of building a community-focused business. They’ve been my sounding boards, my advisors, and above all, my pillars of strength.
As for books, there are too many to list that have shaped my thinking and fueled my passion. Each one has contributed a unique perspective that has enriched my understanding of community, leadership, and social impact.
And last but certainly not least, I want to acknowledge the countless beautiful souls who make up the ThirdSpace community. Each member brings their own light, making our collective shine even brighter. They are the heartbeat of ThirdSpace, and it’s their energy and enthusiasm that make our mission worthwhile.
So here’s to all the unsung heroes, the mentors, the inspirations, and every single individual who has been a part of this incredible journey. You all deserve a moment in the spotlight.
