Meet Dania Bernard: Website Godmother & Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dania Bernard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dania, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
We have a natural knowing within us that overrides logic, reason and experience — and most definitely the opinions of others. The problem is that most of us haven’t been taught how to tap into or trust our inner wisdom. Everything worthwhile takes time, energy and massive commitment. Building a customer base, running the back office, rolling out an effective marketing campaign — it all requires significantly more time and effort than I would’ve ever imagined. But sometimes no matter how many sleepless nights or sacrifices I make, the results just aren’t there… That’s when I have to ask myself an important question: should I stay the course and double down on my commitment — or do I cut my losses and move on? The answer is not always black and white. I’ve often felt torn between whether I should commit to or quit running my creative business. So I ask myself this question when I’m feeling disappointed or defeated: “Why am I *really* doing this?” This questions leads me to investigate my motivation, peel back the layers and keep it real with myself. Why am I chasing this goal or doing this activity or creating this work in the first place, and why is it so meaningful to me? Once the “why” is evident, and motivations are clear I feel sure in my bones that I made the best and wisest choice for myself. We only get one shot to enjoy this adventure we call life. So if staying the course is holding you back from investing your time and your energy on something way more meaningful, don’t feel bad about quitting! Quitting doesn’t make you weak. In fact, it can often be a boss move. You know, sometimes when we quit a commitment, it’s because we’re choosing to focus our attention on something even more important. You’ll know in your heart what decision feels right.
