We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Vinogradov and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk plays an important role in many people’s lives. To some, risk is something that can ruin motivation and willingness to continue, but for others, it could be the very reason for existing. As a business owner, risk is simply part of the game and sometimes you have to take a risk that others are actively avoiding.

‘If you’re not taking risks, then are you really growing?’ This has become the motto for Daniel Vinogradov, the owner of We Got Hose – Exterior Cleaning. After all, just look at our company’s name. This motto is how We Got Hose has gotten its distinct name and branding .

Being a business owner comes with more risk than just picking a name. For most, the financial risks keep them away from even thinking about starting a business, and they would be right. Starting an exterior cleaning business has been a roller coaster for Daniel, from tight competition to constant upgrades & improvements, business ownership has proven to be a highly expensive venture, but the risk combined with hard work does pay off.

Risk is what differentiates business ownership from other forms of income, like jobs. Taking a risk is what allowed Daniel to make his dreams of business ownership come true. And despite risk being viewed as something negative, oftentimes risk can come with a hefty reward. Some could even say that if you’re not taking risks, you’re not learning. That very much could be true.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Daniel Vinogradov, and I’m the owner of We Got Hose – Exterior Cleaning. Starting this business venture has been a great deal of new experiences and lessons for me. Starting with just a dream of owning a business and a regular job as a valet parking attendant, my best friend and I wanted to come up with a company, unlike all others in the industry. After days of research and brainstorming, the idea was born. We will be starting an exterior cleaning business.

After setting our eyes on exterior cleaning the next step was to come up with an original and catchy name, after all, every other company seemed boring and unaspiring to us. The name was to be ” We Got Hose”, and yes, we are in different area codes.

To many people, this is the hard part, to us, this was just the beginning. Competition has proven to be much tougher than anticipated and with more than 8,000 other companies just in Florida, we knew we’d need some serious work on our marketing. We passed out thousands of units of advertising in a span of more than a year, with clients slowly recognizing our work and dedication to the craft. This didn’t come without challenges, working full-time and running a business was tough, and very expensive. Daniel’s favorite car, a Chevrolet Camaro was the first to go. Out goes a modern muscle car and in comes a Ford van. This was to be the first lesson – business requires sacrifice.

Over time, we were able to make a statement in the industry and had worked with some very large and recognizable businesses as well as entire cities. We Got Hose defied all odds and saw success in a very tough industry. Over time, challenges did arise. We’ve learned that when taking on big contracts, you also need to budget yourself until you finish the job and get paid. This could sometimes take months, a big lesson for a small aspiring company, but only one of many lessons we had to learn.

All thanks to the dedication of its ownership, We Got Hose has gone up in ranks tremendously and now stands as one of the most recognizable exterior cleaning businesses in South Florida. We still encounter challenges every day, but only with dedication and understanding that things will always come up do we keep pushing forward, while looking back in admiration for the work we were able to accomplish with nothing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Florida is a vacation destination for millions of people every year. If my best friend was visiting my area, my go-to itinerary would be to start in downtown Miami. The beautiful city with its tall buildings is something that every visitor should see at least once. From there the Frost Museum of Science would be our next destination. This beautiful place offers many attractions and possibilities for cool photos and an overall unforgettable experience.

My next destination would be further south, specifically, Key West. Driving on miles of bridges in the middle of the ocean isn’t something you can experience everywhere. Key West is something everyone who visits Florida should see, as you won’t find anything like it anywhere else.

Florida being Florida, one of the most prominent attractions of the state is the alligators. These massive green reptiles have become synonymous with the state of Florida, which is why I would take my friend on a fan boat ride in the Everglades. This fun attraction is highly popular among tourists and even locals, so it would be an essential part of our itinerary.

Perhaps our final destination could be considered the most basic by the Floridians, but Disney World & Universal Studios parks are one of the top attractions in the state. People from all over the world fly to Florida simply to visit these parks, and them being within driving distance to us makes it a great place to visit for first-time travelers.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Having loyal friends and family is the most essential attribute of any business owner. Everyone needs support and advice, and who would be better to take that advice from than the people closest to you?

I would like to dedicate this shoutout to the people closest to me, after all, they always believe in me when nobody else does.
