We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniela Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniela, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks in my opinion is an essential part of life. It takes you out of your comfort zone and can lead you to new heights. My husband and I have taken so many risks to get to where we are now. We started with a small store in little Havana and now we have three stores in Miami. Had we not taken these risks, we would still be where we started. Life is all about risks. You must not stay stagnant in life. The fear of failure will always be there but you must have FAITH over FEAR and believe that the risk that you are about to take will take you higher. We continue to take risks in the quinceanera industry, we continue to push the envelope and because of this we are considered one of the best Quinceanera photography studios in the country.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My husband and I own Bella Quinces & Photography. We are a one stop shop for every girls’ quince photo shoot needs. We offer exclusive designer gowns, prom gowns, tuxedos and most importantly photography and video services. The road was not easy and as your company grows so do the problems. Like any business, we started small with a store that was family owned with 2 employees to 15 years later, owning our own store in Miami and one of the largest in Hialeah with over 40 employees. Through the years I’ve learned to have patience when dealing with employees and clients, that there are always so many sides to a story, to always remain neutral and most importantly how to effectively solve problems. We were blessed a couple of years ago to be a part of a reality show about our stores that aired on TLC. As a result of this we trademarked our company and it was by far the best decision we ever made. If feels amazing to do something that solidifies your company in an industry. I have learned that it is imperative to defend your brand to the fullest, to be proud of your failures and accomplishments and to be EXTREMELY PROUD of the company that you have built. To the world, Bella Quinces didn’t just happen overnight, it took long days, long weeks, sweat, tears, dedication, and so much more but in the end when you see what you have accomplished it is truly rewarding. Nothing in life is easy. It’s much harder to fight for something that is yours. I’m extremely grateful to my staff and my clients that have helped us grow and be the best.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in the city are Coral Gables, Brickell and Miami Beach. One of my favorite things to do is eat and drink at a restaurant, so for me Coral Gables has amazing restaurants to eat at. Brickell is a good time for a night out and I absolutely love being at the beach. More so on a boat… I love going out on our boat and enjoying a day in the ocean. Miami is a great place to do all these things and so much more.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband is one of the most hardworking and dedicated business owner that I know. He took a 45 year family business and turned it into something spectacular. He is a mastermind behind how our business operates. He has never lost sight of his vision and now 15 years after we started, we truly have an amazing business. His cousin, Jarling Perez has been with us since almost the beginning. She helps us run the business and I am forever grateful to her for her loyalty and love for this business. She is not only family but she is also someone I consider a friend.
