We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniela Moreno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniela, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
I feel like anyone who doesn’t work on social media, doesn’t understand the background work to everything being showcased in an account. The content creation process is long, from idea to execution and I feel like people assume it’s a lot easier than it actually is.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started out studying at FIT in New York and wanted to be a part of the business side of fashion. I moved back to Miami and focused on studying public relations and started doing internships and getting my foot into the industry any way I could. Then I began working for an agency where I was doing content creation, events, PR among other things and started understanding business a little bit better. I started my blog with a friend and we would work on it on the weekends as we both has full time jobs. Eventually, I took the plunge, quit my job and started doing this full time. It’s never an easy decision to leave your comfort zone for something so risky as creating content for an app but here we are years later and I’m so thankful for the decisions that I’ve made because I’ve created a bit of a dream life for myself in a way. Working with brands that I’ve loved my entire life has definitely been worth the hard times. A huge lesson I’ve learned is to be consistent. Keep going because it all starts to pay off.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start by taking them to lunch at Mandolin, one of my favorite restaurants in Miami that instantly teleports you to Greece. Then I would show them around the Design District and work our way into Wynwood. My best friend Valentina (who was once part of Iron N Salt) opened up a skincare studio there called Sana, so I would take them there for a little skin treatment. The weekend I would dedicate to being at the beach all day. It’s my favorite place to be on a Saturday, reading a book and swimming in the ocean. At night, I would love to go have a drink somewhere around Miami Beach, broken shaker is one of my favorites. I would also dedicate a day to walking around Brickell City Center. Doesn’t have much ambiance but it’s a beautiful architectural outside mall that I feel like any tourist would enjoy!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My best friend Valentina who started Iron N Salt with me. If she didn’t partner up with me in the beginning of this, I most likely would have never taken the plunge to do this on my own.
