Meet Danna Zuluaga | Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danna Zuluaga and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danna, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In my case, taking a risk is the result of going against your fears and winning. Every step I do, every risk I take and the ones that are coming are who I am today and who I will be. No matter if it turns out good or bad, in the end, there is something to learn. For example, if I hadn’t taken the risk to grab a camera I wouldn’t know how photography and cinematography have an impact on me. If I hadn’t taken the risk to be in front of the camera, to this day, I wouldn’t have known how much happiness is in front of the camera, acting/modeling brings to me. The most important one, if my family hadn’t taken the risk to come to the United States and start a new life, everything would have been different. And more little things that can sound small, but those risks have changed my life and will continue to do so.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being able to create is a blessing. Art is part of me, and without it, I wouldn’t be able to feel any connection professionally with anything I’m doing today. I’m not where I want to be, but I’m proud of where I am today. There’s a long way ahead and I am ready to overcome every challenge. Something I learn about being a creative person is that you always will want more and that you are your biggest hater and critique. The hard part is the creative blocks or the point where you don’t believe in your art.

For me, sometimes it’s hard to realize that I’m going through one, and all I think about is how I will be able to get rid of it, to be honest time is your best friend and everything happens for a reason; I take every experience of my 21 years alive and make it art.

Some projects that are coming soon are:

My upcoming brand UD2F, “U Deserve To Feel” – That it’s ok to feel, not just sadness or happiness- but everything we may feel, in any situation. I don’t want my brand to just represent my life, but for everyone to feel heard and a part of something.

Podcast – Sunday Podcast will be in Spanish, I created this (going to) gem with a friend, we are so excited for people to hear us and be able to relate to us.

Also modeling, writing and recording my own videos, acting on them, photography, concert photography, designing clothes and pitching ideas to singers for their next music video are projects that I’m working now.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Absolutely Miami is the best place to have fun and disconnect from work for a little bit. The beach and clubs are amazing, I will for sure make sure they have an excellent time to remember.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to my mom, dad, and two brothers. No matter our differences, they will always be there. Especially my big brother, that has helped me not only giving me a push to chase my dreams but was there at my worst. Also, always grateful for the people that are always there since day 1. Ya saben quienes son.
