Hi Daria, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?

One thing about the photography industry that outsiders might not be aware of is the extensive planning and coordination required behind the scenes for every shoot. While the final images may appear effortless and spontaneous, a significant amount of preparation, including scouting locations, obtaining permits, coordinating with clients or models, dealing with unpredictable weather, and considering lighting conditions, goes into creating a successful photo shoot. It’s not just about clicking the shutter; it’s about meticulous planning and attention to detail to ensure everything comes together seamlessly on the day of the shoot for an instant that lasts a lifetime.

My art as a photographer in Miami is a reflection of my unique perspective, honed through years of experience, passion, and dedication. What sets me apart is not just my technical skill or creative vision, but also my relentless pursuit of authenticity and storytelling in every image I capture.

I take immense pride in my ability to connect with my subjects on a deeper level, allowing me to convey their emotions, stories, and personalities through my lens. Whether it’s capturing the vibrant energy of Miami’s streets or the raw beauty of its natural landscapes, I strive to evoke a sense of emotion and captivation in every photograph.

My journey to where I am today professionally has been anything but easy. Coming to America to start a new business with English as a second language presented numerous challenges. I faced language barriers, cultural differences, and the daunting task of building a brand in a competitive industry. However, I refused to let these obstacles deter me.

Through perseverance, hard work, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, I overcame these challenges one step at a time. I immersed myself in language courses, sought guidance from mentors, and embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. Each obstacle I encountered became a lesson in resilience and determination, shaping me into the photographer I am today.

My story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the belief that with passion and dedication, anything is possible. I want the world to know that my brand is not just about capturing beautiful images; it’s about storytelling, connection, and the pursuit of authenticity. I hope to inspire others to chase their dreams fearlessly, no matter the obstacles they may face along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Miami for a week, I’d ensure they experience the city’s eclectic charm to the fullest, and take them to my favorite spots for photo shoots along the way. We would wander through the Design District’s art galleries, boutiques, and outdoor installations, capturing stunning photos of the vibrant street art and contemporary architecture. I’d take them for a leisurely stroll along the Miami Beach Boardwalk at sunset, capturing breathtaking views of the ocean and skyline. And I wouldn’t let my friend leave without venturing to Key Biscayne and exploring Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, home to historic lighthouses and pristine beaches.

Throughout the week, I’d make sure to indulge my friend’s requests for impromptu photoshoots, capturing candid moments against Miami’s stunning backdrops. Miami is a city brimming with excitement and diversity, and I’d ensure my friend experiences the best it has to offer, creating unforgettable memories and photographs along the way.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without the love, support, and understanding of my family and friends, navigating the difficult journey of entrepreneurship would have been infinitely more challenging. They’ve cheerfully embraced the unpredictable nature of my profession, whether it’s canceling plans last minute due to a sudden photo opportunity or enduring long hours while I chase my passion. Their unwavering belief in me has been a source of strength during both the highs and lows of my career.

Their willingness to lend a helping hand, whether it’s assisting on a shoot, providing honest feedback on my work, or simply being a pillar of emotional support, has been invaluable. Behind every successful photographer is a network of loved ones who selflessly contribute to their journey, and I am incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing support system.
