We had the good fortune of connecting with Davica Williams, MDIV and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Davica, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Ironically, there was a time where I engaged life through a safe zone. It wasn’t until my undergraduate at Florida Memorial University, when I entered my first beauty pageant that I took a risk and emerged out of my traditional student government presidential role and challenged beauty norms as a plus size buxom beauty. It was the overwhelming support and critics of naysayers that fueled me to no longer to play safe and go after desire and goal(s)I wanted to accomplish. I have learned that taking risks is necessary in order to achieve influence and dominance in every facet of life. To me taking risks is the embodiment of “faith without action is dead” James 2:17

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I come with over 25 years of professional work history in various industries from high fashion, retail & marketing, property management/real estate, and higher education. I have been fortunate to use my interpersonal skills and academic training as a Christian Psychologist to be successful in any work environment. I have a work ethic and drive that keeps me from settling for complacency and stagnation. So how did the WonderTwinz LLC and DaviSpeaks Brand emerge? Great Question. In 2015 my twin sister was diagnosed with 5 rare and chronic autoimmune diseases that caused us to move from dream building of birthing our human services business and women’s health ministry through body positivity, mental health advocacy, and mentorship for teens, collegiate age to professional women. Demetria was a Mental Health Therapist acquiring her license and working with disabled Americans at the time and I was working full time as a Property Manager and Professional Model. It was her health challenge that activated the WonderTwinz and we knew that time was of the essence to make our philanthropic efforts a business entity. In 2016, I walked away from property management, became my sisters’ caregiver, and used my robust savings to launch our LLC and Late Night With Davi. Our influence in the South Florida Market place has positioned us to Capital Hill to features on nationally syndicated radio shows across the country and dozens of national features in health and beauty entertainment magazines. I then used our credibility to forge my way in talk radio from the Gospel Sector to Urban Radio and now more recently as a Licensed Realtor “Davi Thee Realtor” with Elite Realty Partners Inc.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
OMG, my favorite places for fine dining between Miami Gardens and South Beach are Bar One and Lornas Caribbean American Grille. It’s the ambiance, flavorful authentic Caribbean cuisines and music that keeps the socializing going all day and night long. It’s where the professionals dine, dance, network, and have the Miami Experience. Also, be sure to be dressed appropriately many celebrities dine and party at these venues. I also would go north to The Downtown Hollywood area and hit up Ginger Bay, Gigi’s Waterfront, and Billy’s Stone Crab for more fine dining and a night of dancing to live music. The boardwalk on Hollywood Beach by Margaritaville gives the allure of being on a resort far away from here. As I continue north Las Olas in my opinion revamped what South Beach nightlife used to be in the late ’90s to about 2006. Every spot is popping on the strip and can have an impromptu bar crawl, fine dining all up and down A1A and one can dance to live music or DJ almost any time of the week. It’s never a dull moment. If I had to shout out a night club it would be Euro hands down and Revolution is a great concert space. As you can see I love being by the water and I often have my bestie’s partake in beach acyroyoga with my favorite yogi Justice Jackson of @guerillabear fitness. We would be beached mermaids and sun bathe all day under a cabana. I usually stay at The W Fort Lauderdale or the Diplomat in Hallandale to be central to the action between Dade and Broward. I would be remiss if I did not mention Brickell or Wynwood as hot spots to make any friends when they come into town. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I truly am the embodiment of my ancestors that have guided me since my first breathe. There are also dozens of people including my family that I could dedicate my shout out to, however, I must continue to give honor to my beautiful reflection my late identical twin sister Demetria Olivia Williams (10/28/1981-06/02/2018. I am the woman, sister, auntie, mother, friend and mentor because of her sisterhood.
