We had the good fortune of connecting with David Colby and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After a year of having my own solar panels on my home, I noticed they were dirty and begin researching ways to clean them.At that point I noted that there would be a need for this in South Florida and hence Solar Shine was started.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from others is my training and equipment. There aren’t many cleaners out there who are educated in the cleaning and maintenance of solar panels.
Starting a new business is not easy. I’ve learned from my mistakes, and not to put the cart before the horse. Also when you start a new business you need to be hungry, and remember your business is hungry too. If you’re not feeding your business, that business is not going to succeed.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a husband and father the party scene days have long been done for me.
But in the city of West Palm Beach, Okeechobee Steakhouse is the best place for a great dinner.
Downtown West Palm Beach has a lot to offer in night life and entertainment.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! A big shout out to Chris Vergin owner of SolarTidy in San Diego and founder of Solar Panel Cleaning Friends. And I can’t forget Shawn Gavin of RHG Tucker products. Thanks gentlemen.
