We had the good fortune of connecting with David Moss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The Conch Pearl Entertainment 242 brand is built on culture. The idea for the company came from the need to preserve and package the culture for generations to come.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Conch Pearl Entertainment 242 is an event production and management company. We pride ourselves on providing authentic Bahamian festivals, events and cultural projects.

As a leader, the word No represents new opportunities. I am always looking for opportunities to expand the Conch Pearl brand and share the rich culture of the Bahamas with the world.

I am most excited about our 2022 Junkanoo Fest in Miami Gardens, July, 28-31. Coming off the heels of the pandemic, this project is dear to me because it reconnects the people to culture. Prior to the pandemic, the Bahamas had suffered a catastrophic blow from category 5 hurricane Dorian, which left two major ports and islands devastated. This coupled with a 36 month break in hospitality revenue changed the landscape of the Bahamian economy. Our 2022 Junkanoo Fest creates a new opportunity for Bahamian culture to be put on display while promoting the Bahamas as the perfect holiday getaway experience.
I am excited to be an ambassador of culture and a walking billboard for Bahamian hospitality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Recently recently the Bahamian Community was recognized by South Florida officials. This resulted in Coconut Grove being renamed as Little Bahamas. When friends visit the area I take them to local Bahamian restaurants and Caribbean events featuring Bahamian talent. We would definitely go to Wynwood Walls, South Beach, do a Miami bus ride and visit little havannah.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to recognize the people of the Bahamas for their resilience, humility, and Undying Love for their native land.
