We had the good fortune of connecting with David Woods and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up there was no clear path towards making a living off artistic values. Even after high school I began to “legitimize” my life by making salary within white collar office spaces which at the time seemed the way to go for a secure future. It wasn’t until I took a leap of faith into the creative world that I saw doing what you enjoy is a possibility for a career. I taught myself to sew and became a sponge in the industry. I learned quick and never took a day off. I never had the chance to sit and decide to continue to pursue an artistic/creative career. It just became who I was on a day to day basis. My goal now is to make this process easier for our next generations. Help people skip obstacles of every day life and take these leap of faiths sooner and smarter.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve created a Fashion brand/network based on style and empowerment. We push boundaries and open doors. It has been full of trials and tribulations but the future has never been brighter. We overcome anything that arises by simply pushing forward. We are on what some have called an “infinite ladder”. I can’t imagine ever getting to a point of satisfaction as there is always something that can be bigger, deeper and better. If there is one thing I’ve learned along the way, it is patience. I am a firm believer in having exactly what I need when I need it. The world should know I am just like anyone else. Flesh, bones and blood. What differentiates one another is our mind states, our artistic values and how we are able to present ideas to the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being a SoFlo native I would firstly fill my friends schedules with creative experiences at Vision Haus Studios. A new production studio in wynwood where you have access to produce or even learn to produce any creative content. For food, drinks and a good time Pilos Tequilla Garden in wynwood has been the only spot to go to in wynwood. Any day or night there is always something going on there. For a relaxed cost effective day I’d recommend hollywood boardwalk. If you want the geniune Miami experience you would have to spend a day in south beach!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been blessed to come across many creative entrepreneurs with the same empowering mindstate that have helped me where they can. Daishawn Franklin of Indie Fashion was one of the first producers to ever allow my brand onto a runway show. Forever changing my Mind state and future path of my brand and lifestyle. Alexander Mcqueen has always been one of the few designers I’ve ever admired and been inspired by. My photographer Michael Hursey has been able to capture our companies process as we have elevated to greater levels.
