Meet Deanna Dicesere | Personal Trainer & Owner of EMPWRD

We had the good fortune of connecting with Deanna Dicesere and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deanna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Covid made me very frustrated and out of my routine. I saw that as an opportunity to get people together virtually and start a community called POWER30. The frustration behind gyms closing, everything shutting down, and everyone forgetting about their health for a few months INFURIATED me. I said enough is enough, I’m doing this I don’t care what it looks like but something needs to happen. I had an idea, I prayed about it and put action to the dreams/desires I had.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I help Christian women steward their body well to Glorify God in the process. God gave us one body to take care of and nurture, without it we perish. But, through Jesus we have eternal life. All in all I personal train women virtually and provide encouragement, challenge old habits/thought patterns, and truly push them towards purpose as well as get out of their negative mindset. This business has been a journey, for the first 3 years I did it without the Lord guiding me and trying to be what I was not designed to do in the fitness realm. But the end of 2023, the Lord spoke clearly to me to include the adversity I’ve faced with being born without my right arm, be excited about the journey God has brought me on and SHARE with others. That is authenticity.
You can do anything you put your mind to, do NOT let your negative or limiting thoughts stop you from perusing the call God has on your life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my bestie to crescent lake to go for a huge walk and play pickle ball. Then we would go to soho to grab an alai bowl or smoothie. I would definitely plan to get a workout in at SWEAT st. Pete. Then journey over to Bacchus Wine Bistro in downtown St. Pete to get a beautiful charcuterie board with some wine.
We would head to Indian Rocks beach even if it was a little chilly because the sand hitting your feet and the sound of the water is breathtaking.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely would shout out my mentor and friend Pauline. The Lord has spoken through her many times over the past 2 years she has been in my life to help heal through childhood wounds, trauma, and relationships. Especially my relationship with Jesus.
