Meet Deborah McGarry | President/Esthetician of Dermal-Care Esthetics & Wellness Centre

We had the good fortune of connecting with Deborah McGarry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deborah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The drive behind my intention to start my own business was due to the fact that there were very few professionals in my field who were offering clinical-grade, non-invasive skin care treatments to address premature aging of the skin. Most individuals would begrudgingly resort to injectables and dermal fillers, which can ultimately result in side effects, some of which could be semi-permanent or even permanent. I wanted to formulate a process by which an individual could achieve viable and cumulative ant-aging results for the face, neck, chest and hands. After many years of research, I came up with a method of combining various non-invasive, energy-based skincare devices that are safely driven by light waves, micro-currents, electro-transportation, cavitation, and radio-frequency. By administering several of these devices in various combinations, one can safely achieve lifting, toning, smoothing of the skin, as well as building of lost collagen and elastin, that comes with the aging process. I’ve also learned to incorporate principles of organic and natural skincare from the schools of Naturopathy and Ayurveda to enhance the results of one’s skin equilibrium and health. These techniques have given me the opportunity and recognition within the community to address the skin’s aging process safely, innovatively, effectively, and with no downtime!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a veteran NYC-experienced professional in the holistic skincare and wellness field for 35+ years, Deborah McGarry, President/Esthetician of Dermal-Care Esthetics & Wellness Centre, located in Boca Raton, is honored to have the opportunity to meet the needs of those individuals who wish to achieve clinical anti-aging results without the utilization of invasive procedures, botox, or dermal fillers. She is one of the very few Licensed Estheticians in South Florida who does not advocate dermal injections or cosmetic surgery procedures. Her unique application of combining natural therapies utilizing energy-based, non-invasive clinical skincare devices and principles of Ayurveda and Naturopathy, along with her own line of herbal-based organic skincare products, have proven to provide the viable and appreciable results that her clients so desire. Deborah is also proud to offer complimentary Oncology Skincare Treatments for cancer patients. Her other popular services include LED Teeth Whitening, Body Sculpting, Healing Reiki, Ear Candling, and Ionic Body Detox Treatments.

Deborah’s beauty and wellness career journey began in the early 1980s, working as a fashion model to put herself through college, as a psychology major. After which she continued as a freelance para-medical make-up artist in NYC, Boston, and the midwest, where she had worked with cancer patients, burn survivors and trauma victims, offering Rehabilitative Appearance Therapy.

Ms. McGarry later landed a position on Park Avenue in NYC with a world-renowned dermatologist, where she worked my way up from staff Esthetician to VP of Sales for a propietary skincare line develop by the same physician. Her career was very progressive and thriving—until 9/11 happened! After that point in time, Deborah made the very arduous and abrupt decision to leave her beloved NYC behind and move to Naples, FL.

As a new resident of Florida, Deborah purchased and operated a Merle Norman Cosmetics Franchise in the Naples regional shopping mall, and also secured a part-time position as an Esthetics Licensing program educator for a private vocational college. Both positions had built great recognition for her within the community.

In 2006, Ms. McGarry decided to go solo as an Esthetician and opened Dermal-Care Esthetics & Wellness Centre with a flagship location on prestigious 5th Avenue South in Naples, which quickly became a success that endured for many years. This had prompted her to then expand the business to a second location, in Boca Raton in 2013. Without having known a soul in Boca, Deborah secured a small office space, and with a minimal amount of advertising, the business took off, and they are still very viable 10 years later! She had operated both locations in Naples and Boca for several years, and later decided to consolidate and remain in Boca full-time.

To this day, Deborah wakes up every morning and is extremely grateful for her journey and where it has brought her, to this place and time within an extremely competitive market.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whenever we have family or friends visiting from out of town, we always give them the grand tour of Boca Raton, from Mizner Park, Royal Palm Plaza, and Town Center Mall, to our pristine beaches and vast greenspace parks.
